The drumming and everything else on this song is wild. Just energy and mastery of their instrument. The lyrics are wild too.

A-ha, never good for the song itself, but very good after Austin Powers (Mike Myers), right? Especially that he claims part British/part Scottish, while the truth is he is Canadian, which is neither fish, nor flesh. At least Freddie Mercury never hided that his is Indian. True love and true music there. His estate went to his love of her life, by the way, and she is a true woman, not some "escape artist" pretending to be one.

The Capitol Theatre films are a priceless treasure - rare chances to see the greatest musicians when they were young, raw, in a small simple setting, often before anybody knew who they were.

Northern soul, combined with the spirit of late 70's new wave at it's best!!! Fantastic live performance, the camera only concentrated on the musicians and their ability, to set their songs on fire! Spirit, emotions, motivation on stage, from a bunch of pale englishmen with black souls...a day to remember!!!

I saw him in Manhattan on the Hudson River venue outdoors in NYC in 1981. Long since gone. Only a few thousand people. It was a great concert. I wish I still had the tank top t-shirt I bought. I first heard "My funny Valentine" by a street singer at Washington Square Park in the West Village of NYC. It is surrounded by buildings owned by NYU which I attended.

Any big fans need to read Rebel Heart by BeBe Buell. All moral outrage aside, she was the muse behind 6 of his biggest albums. Blood & Chocolate was ABOUT her. Picture having this mental giant writing songs about you. This book gives you a brief behind the scenes glimpse of a lost era when he was the most prolific. A tiny bit trashy? Sure, but so is life, for most of us.

Acoustic set for a crowd that big? No way. And Elvis's lyrics are impossible to understand in such a large crowd, so what's the point?
