There are nine members in the band, Alain Ackermann (drums), Matteo Sisti (whistles, bagpipe, uilleann pipes), Kai Brem (bass), Rafael Salzmann (guitar), Jonas Wolf (guitar), Nicole Ansperger (violin), Michalina Malisz (hurdy gurdy), Fabienne Erni (vocals, Celtic harp), Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann (vocals, whistles, mandola, bagpipe, uilleann pipe, bodhran, celtic harp). They are all from Switzerland except Nicole Ansperger (from Germany) and Michalina Malisz (from Poland). They are one of my favourite bands and I am planning to see them live in Wiesbaden (Germany) in December together with Amorphis.

Damn you're good! Rocks and forests and storms? I usually consider Tauri a pretty cerebral reactor but she didn't get that and neither did I. Anyways what sells me on this is compared to say Rebirth the different elements are much more integrated, it's such a complete sound. Interesting note: Michalina Malisz their current hurdy gurdy artist, started playing in no small part because this band inspired her. When she got good enough she started her own KZread channel and did a lot of covers, many of them Eluveitie. When the old hurdy gurdy/vocalist stepped out, they messaged her and asked her to join up. Any band that recruits a KZread artist who's a big fan is pretty cool in my book. But she's Polish not Swiss. Give her channel a look it's worth it(yup I'm a fanboy) Thank you Eluveitie for being the consummate artists they are and thank you OSN for being one of the best reactors on KZread. Quit selling yourself short.

@@najrenchelf2751 In all fairness she is very talented and did a good job on her covers. But yeah most established bands wouldn't take a chance on a KZreadr. Give her channel a look if you haven't. There's some great music and some cool clips about hurdy gurdies, her husband builds them for a living.

Great song by great people. Back when I played Celtic music, I had no idea you could toss it in the Wearing Blender with metal (in the mid-70's, my amplified music-of-choice was Mahavishnu Orchestra). I really hope Kevin Burke (Bothy Band) gets a chance to hear this group. I think he'd approve.

Cheers to a great reaction. This is my most anticipated song of the year so far. If you’re interested in the “folkier” side of their music you should check out their Evocation (1 and 2) albums. They’re more so folk albums rather than folk metal or now metal folk albums.

“Celt’s playing metal music from all our hearts” 🖤! The village I live in has been settled since at least 12.000 B.C., and it has a very well documented Celtic history. Moreover, less than a day’s walk away lies the Martberg, the site of what once was one of the biggest Oppida (an oppidum was a fortified settlement) of the Treveri, a Belgae tribe. It also held (or holds, since it was partly reconstructed in 2004) one of the biggest Celtic temple sites on modern German ground, dedicated to the God Lenus Mars, a Celtic healing god but also God of war. The Treveri were badly defeated by the Romans when they rebelled against these, and a century or so later their area was taken over by Francs - which were a German tribe, not a Celtic one. So my ancestry may well be more Germanic than Celtic, but Celtic music and specially the music of Eluveitie do something to my insides. This particular band holds a special place in my heart. Their music speaks to me like no other. Thus, I am so happy they are finally back with such a banger! 🤘🖖

I have a lot of Germanic and Celtic ancestry myself and this band really speaks to me too. I may be talking out of my ass, but I think there may have been a fair amount of cross over between the Celtic and Germanic tribes. I could be completely wrong though.

@@jo_g.germany I have a history degree and though ancient isn't my strong point, I think the Germanic and Nordic peoples pretty much filled the void left by the Celts(except in the British Isles). Celtic, crafts, weapons and armor were very similar, and key to the rise of both was their skills with iron.

@@fredbarnes2600 I'm not a historian, but yes, that's pretty much what happened to the area I hail from: after the Romans put down the Treveri rebellion, their army was dissolved and they where not even allowed to serve in the Roman army. As the Romans declined, in the middle of the 3rd century the Germanic Francs crossed the Rhine and took over the lands along the river Moselle and further south which previously had been purely Celtic territory. They mixed with the original Celtic population. Ironically, the country name of France goes back to a germanic tribe that rose to power and fame to the ages.

@@jo_g.germany See you need to understand, book knowledge by itself isn't enough, in fact it can be dead wrong. What someone knows about their heritage, whether correct or incorrect can tell you more about a culture than a dozen dusty books. Like they said they aren't a Celtic metal band but Celts playing metal with all their hearts. That statement tells me how they identify and where their passions are, more than some formally educated musician critiquing what they're doing. It's like that.
