Elton John's 1985 Live Aid performance was plagued with issues as soon as they went onstage. The opening song, "I'm Still Standing", suffered frequent microphone feedback issues--the guitar had problems--and some of the backing vocalists were off key.
This song had been kept off of official releases for years, until very recently for a "1 Billion Views" event on the Live Aid KZread channel. The performance was remixed to try and soften or eliminate issues from the backing vocalists and the guitar. What resulted is a very thin sounding mix as there is very little guitar. The mic feedback, however, was left very much intact.
I tried putting it through Adobe Audition and played around with getting rid of the feedback and remixing the track myself. This was just a rough edit for fun, I do not claim this to be pro-level or anything of the sort. Just an experiment to see what could be done. I did a couple other patches as well. I couldn't do much about the guitar unfortunately. Tried to beef up some other bits especially when the feedback removal produced digital noise.
