Imagine around 15 states being annexed and occupied by let’s say Mexico or some other country, taking your citizens basically hostages, and some rich Ukrainian guy comes on TV and says: “Hey, fellow Americans, why do you keep fighting? Just stop the war. You’re losing the flower of your generation! Just let the aggressor have those territories, there’s not going to be much changes further on anyway.” I think Americans would rightfully shut him the f up.

WWI was involving most of Europe and trenches thousands of kilometers long with huge armies on both sides. In Ukraine while frontline is long, intense fighting happen in hotspots, and there rate of casualties are very high from artillery, that can't keep happening for years, one side will simply will not be able to keep doing this. It is very unlikely that the hot conflict in Ukraine will last longer than WWI (4 years, 3 months and 2 weeks) It would if it could keep the fighting going at the current rates till 2026 June. @Nauda999 Yes, but Musk is totally wrong when he compares the trench war of WWI with what is happening in Ukraine today. The main difference is that the Russians are not interested in occupying territory; what they are doing is destroying the Ukrainian army and weaponry. This is actually the way that the Prussian General Von Clausewitz (end 1700)described the strategy of war. And Von Clausewitz's books are still studied today in major military academies.

I agree: Musk is a manufacturer; comes up with some inventive products, likely has better relations with China, than America, because manufacturing is what they do to; but when it comes to the Ukrainian conflict he's guessing. I share his concern that robots are increasingly being used as: police; soldiers, or judges (computer says no!); it's a dangerous misuse of a useful technology and if science fiction is any indication, it ends very badly. Since the map hasn't moved (much) in well over a year; it seems clear what Russia wants and there will be no further peace negotiations (I believe they said), the talking has stopped. I don't think this is like WW1, or WW2; but it might yet start WW3 (which won't last long).

The alternative is to sit and negotiate. Yes, Ukraine would have to give up some territory and agree not to enter NATO, but this is much better than killing its entire population, destroying its cities and potentially provoking a Third World War. Also Ukraine is not that innocent in this war. For years the Russian population in Ukraine has been discriminated against and in other regions killed by Ukrainian Neo-Nazis with the support of the government in Kiev. There were Minsk agreements which if they had been honoured we would not have this war today. Not to mention that Putin has been talking about how NATO is a threat to Russia and he would not accept Ukraine being in NATO since 2007. So there was a lot that could have been done to avoid the war and now Zelensky can stop the war by negotiating. Putin is open for negotiations as he has said many times

It will also give Russia more time to rebuilt their crumbling military capabilities and dig in even more on the frontlines. Zelenskyy's Ukraine is currently caught in a costly standoff with Russia, relying only on the current military assistance from the West to maintain its position. However, the West's commitment to supporting such conflicts can be unpredictable and short-lived. Putin, being aware of this, doesn't necessarily need to achieve a breakthrough on the frontlines; he just needs to wait until the Western taxpayers lose interest. In the meantime, he can continue to deploy prisoners and conscripts on the frontlines. The West will soon find other distractions, such as a recession or conflicts in the Middle East. Zelenskyy is stubborn, and should consider seeking a diplomatic solution to avoid being remembered for his refusal to do so.

Zelensky knows, that an armistice is just prolonging things into the future. Russia's defense doctrine requires that Ukraine it is under their control.

" should consider a diplomatic solution"--> Ukraine no longer existing. Everyone keeps saying " diplomatic solution" but when you ask them to give more details, they have none. You mean like the diplomatic solution from.the 90's or the one from.2014-2015? Because those worked well, right?

I was never the biggest fan of Musk but it is comforting to see that he takes on a pacifist role and talk about the loss of human lives in the situations we see now in Ukraine and Gaza. Everyone else talks about the righteousness of their side and Must actually talks about not sacrificing the lives of the young generation. Huge respect.

Zelensky, please don't send troops to fight Russia. Let them take Ukrainian land and maybe a little bit of Polish land. What the hell, you can even take the Baltic countries as well and do whatever you want. No one is going to stop you because Elon Musk thinks it's a great idea.

Elon Musk sounds like a Russian agent. He’s the enemy of USA and western financial world. He is super PRO PUTIN and probably wants to replace western financial world with BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), he is South African so maybe he is in on a plot to destroy current world order. They have done so by heavily demonizing USA and Europe. Shame on Musk for his anti American propaganda and ideals. Unfortunately, because he’s a billionarie, everything he says, they will worship it.

Talking to Putin is all well and good, but it takes two sides to make a peace deal. I think the only peace deal Putin will be interested in is if Ukraine hands their entire country over to him. There is no acceptable compromise for either side.
