Movies like Xanadu don't get made anymore. You can't capture lightning in a bottle again like this, with the talent of Gene Kelly, ONJ and ELO all together. The script and production woes couldn't hold them back. The music especially is instant time machine back to being a little boy in the early 80's and hearing it for the first time. Have to believe this is magic...

This movie makes me want to make something beautiful that brings joy and fun into the world. I want to open a kick ass health spa and a farm that produces health food. This movie also makes me want to learn to really dance. Guys like me WERE meant to dream!

Movies like Xanadu don't get made anymore.. You do know it crashed and burned. It nearly killed Her career in hollywood. Gotta separate between the fact that you love the movie. Vs the masses who are suppose to help the studio earn back it's investment

One of a kind, but she did another movie with John Travolta called Two of a Kind.

I've always loved this movie . SO underrated ! When I was a kid, this scene was magical to me . It still is !!

I must have worn out my vinyl record listening to it so much. The movie soundtrack is beautiful, especially the songs by ELO. More than forty years later, it remains and will remain unforgettable. RIP Olivia, RIP Gene, you are immortal.

Some people hate the Xanadu movie, but to me was one of the best Olivia Newton John movie's of all besides Grease .Especially with Gene Kelly 🤗😁😘😉😏😆🤣

I sat through this movie 4 times in the theater just because of the music.

I was 8. My dad was a huge ONJ fan and we went to the drive in to watch this movie. I had an immediate crush on her. And then my parent got the cassette. It was non stop from start to end every time in dad's car. These songs take me back to beautiful days. Thanks ONJ & ELO.

Watched this film as a big ONJ fan and loved it. The critics slammed it. Take it for what it is, a fantasy musical with excellent songs and a gorgeous leading lady. Still love it today

Yeah, cheesy but great. Nice memories!...

ELO's music definitely made the movie for me. They were still creative geniuses mixing Beatlesesqe pop with wonderful rock at the time and this was at their peak coming off of Discovery. I'm Alive and All Over The World are some of their finest works shown in this film.

I absolutely *ADORE* the dresses that the costume designer created for Kira and the Muses -- I always have and I always will! I remember having a couple of dresses in the 1980s that vaguely reminded me of them (no...I never wore any of them with legwarmers).

I’m passionate about roller skating, and I absolutely loved this movie.

I saw this opening weekend in a huge Manhattan theater with 10 other people..several hissed and booed, few walked out...and I stay for a second show..a part of what made the 80's so special....

Back in the day when I saw this movie , I fell in desperate love with ONJ . The scene where she beams to earth and rollerskates up to the lead bumps into him and he turns to have her kiss him and roll away .....my word I could have died after that happened to me

Xanadu was nowhere near as bad as people back then made it out to be. And it's still wonderful after all these years.

The music numbers were great. Acting is pretty wooden and the story is a little all over the place, but it's fun....and of course Olivia is super cute and gorgeous :)

I adored this movie then and now in 2022

Brings me back to an emotional space from when I was 16 years old. This song and the movie expressed the way I felt about life: taking chances, believing in dreams, overcoming obstacles. Nice in a 2 hour fantasy movie. Adolescents sometimes want reality to bend to fantasy. Mine was delusional bliss. Despite the reality check I received, I believe there is merit in the happiness of this story. A modern remake is in order. Lots of themes to revisit: dancing, cultural exchange, revitalizing communities. Maybe not so much a roller disco (popular back in 1980) but there are current analogs communities can get behind. As for the songs, they're wonderful, but I'm in my late 50's. I'm not sure Jeff Lynne has it in mind to rerecord them. Bottom line: song writers and movie makers can move people.

I was given up at birth by my parents and all through my childhood I imagined my birthmother as the asian magical being in this scene. This scene inspired me to write my book "The loneliest muse " and though it has been 24 years since I last saw my mom, whenever I want to remember her as the child I was I look to this scene. I realize reality of a cruel world is harsh but the little boy that I once was will always hold onto this vision of his birth mother😔

E.L.O and Olivia newton john are a match made in heaven.

Most musicals have cheesy story line since Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers (maybe Stephen Sondheim stands apart)!...

I loved Xanadu. It's one of those movies I can watch over and over again.

Watched the film again last nite fantastic

I love the choreography, extremely talented and beautiful women, they really captured the angelic (or muses) energy.

Why can't I stop watching this? Maybe it's the fact that the early 80s were a joyful time for me and this evokes those feelings and memories, or maybe it's the hypnotic, abstract quality of the video and song and beautiful, joyfully dancing ladies. But I'm certainly hooked.

I'm from Singapore and I am STILL watching it! I was in my early teens when the movie came out. I was mesmerizd by these beautiful multi-ethnic muses! I LOVE the entire album, especially the title song, Xanadu! ELO and ONJ = perfect music!

40 years later and I still am a mused.

When I saw this in the 5th grade I knew other saw what I could see wit auras. My family though I was crazy, and it was a spiritual experience for me knowing if a movie showed this others saw what I was seeing, and I wasn't crazy.
