    Building an engine is something I hope to take on as an additional facet of my hobby when I retire. I’d have lots to learn.

    This is clearly the most beautiful "Ellie" i hawe ever seen! That last with clip reminds me of when i had to mount a replacement lightholder inside the front of an old Hornby 0 gauge locomotive... ha ha

    That is one gorgeous little tram loco 👍👍👍 You should be well pleased with that. I have enough trouble with 8BA nuts, if I dropped a 10BA I'd never find it! Cheers, Alan.

    Very interesting & instructive. Your engine & burner are of particular interest. Have you made the drawings for them available. If not could I ask you to consider doing so.

    I did not make any drawings for my own model. It's a lot of work to produce a set. I could do it if there was enough interest.

    Does the butane in the burner help keep the batteries from getting hot?

    They don't get hot. I have the boiler mounted on 4 thin stainless studs so not to tranfer heat so easily.

    Still haven’t seen the couplers in action. The video of the train on the track doesn’t give a sufficient view either. Is it a symmetrical, (mutual) coupler? Does one couple with an identical unit, or to an “opposite number”? Maybe I’m overthinking all this, and your coupler is merely cosmetic.

    Are these plans only in metric, or do they have an imperial set too? I know it’s not your design! :)

  • @myfordboy

    @myfordboy

    Only metric but it's easy to substitute imperial materials like bore and crankshaft sizes.All my tooling is imperial.
