    I was on the set in Rome when she was filming Cleopatra. She made the filming stop so that the crew could give water to all of the extras. It was very hot and the extras were heavy in costume, so the water was taken to them one by one. I will never forget that! RIP Elizabeth Taylor.

    A taxi cab driver who works in Stuttgart told me that he picked her up once. She was with another woman. Taylor realized that he recognized her. She started up and carried on a conversation with him. He asked her about her films and she told him all about it. He said that she was more than just cordial. Very warm and friendly. She gave him the best tip he ever had.

    Amazing interview!I love Elizabeth Taylor. She was so ahead of her time. She was an activist for AIDS during a period where it was taboo to speak out about, and she also was honest about her struggles with addiction and alcoholism when no one talked about that stuff back then Also how she’s so humble. Thinking her worst movies were ones that won Oscars. And never bragging about her acting talent and success like many people do today

    She was portrayed as being more of a snob. She wasn’t. Reporters always said how she spent her money on jewels. She did have an extensive collection . Who cares. She worked to support the causes she believed in. Helping people. She was beautiful, talented, and unselfish. She was a child star and grew into a great actress. I miss her. Thank you Miss Elizabeth for leaving us with your fantastic movies. She was Hollywood Royalty. I miss her.

    Yes, she was beautiful and she was an outstanding actress but as to how compassionate she was, well, I have my doubts. How many husbands did she marry? Eight, I believe. That tells me that she was very good at taking love from others but not giving it back in return. When they failed to give her what she wanted, she left them for someone else, and then on to the next one to see how much she could take from the next fellow. A lot of taking, but not a lot of giving, that was her style when it came to people.

    @@carolgreen5448 Elizabeth was in her twenties!! Eddie Fisher, gorgeous in his day and probably at that time the most famous singer in the world, was a hard rebound after after Mike Todd was brutally torn from her life. Incidentally Eddie Fisher and Mike Todd were best friends. Debbie and Eddie's son Todd, was named after Mike. You're over simplistic and judgmental POV tells me, either you have never loved truly or have never lived fully. Debbie and Elizabeth made up when they were both married to other people. They remained friends until Elizabeth Taylor's death. Even then, Elizabeth remembered Debbie generously in her will. Something well documented by Eddie and his daughter Carrie was Eddie Fisher's debilitating drug addiction to amphetamine. It was not uncommon in the '60s to get shots from a Dr Feelgood, to pick you up and be a temporary remedy for whatever your problems may be. JFK received shots as did Herbert Hoover, Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams plus the laundry list of Who's WHO in that era. To my knowledge and that of anyone I knew who was acquainted with either of these women, neither approved or partook of this practice. To paraphrase Mark Twain: first get your facts straight then feel free to distort them however you wish. It started from national velvet with Rodey McDowel to Mongomery Clift to Rock Hudson, James Dean and I am sure other closeted actors we don't know were gay. She has done so much for AIDS research. Incredible woman. I am 49 and might be the last generation to truly remember this wonderful woman.

    Debbie Reynolds was watching her friend, Elizabeth Taylor's small children in her time of grief, while Elizabeth was sleeping with Debbie's husband and actually stole him away and married him! Some of the biggest narcissist /sociopaths make the best sales persons and the greatest charity givers. Not bcus they are empathetic or compassionate but it's all a part of building their carefully crafted image, until the mask slips. It's not what you do in public but who are you in private when no one is looking? What she did was awful and speaks volumes about her compassion!

  • @samsong24

    @samsong24

    @@monty9619 People are throwing the words narcissist and sociopath around way too much these days. It's trend talk. Giving in to lust and being unable to stay faithful does not necessarily mean that you are either of those things. Elizabeth gave love and understanding to minority groups at a time when it was dangerous to as it could potentially bring a career in the public eye to an end. I like to focus on the good things that people do/have done. I don't like to undermine said achievements by pointing out the other side of the coin. We could do that to almost every person on earth, and then what do we have left? Debbie Reynolds made peace with it, I'm sure you can.
