Most weekend golfers lose their balance near the end of the swing, and are all arms and hands at impact , because of very little rotation. I learned that by really rotating my hips through at impact and having them facing the target at the finish will keep me in balance and be less handsy. When I practice I do a drill of exaggerating my weight transfer and rotating through aggressively. As usual another great video , thank you.

Great video. But it raises a question. Is the much talked about and promoted concept of the L to L drill now discredited? At least by instructors such as yourself? Do you feel body release vs hands release works for seniors who generally struggle with lower clubhead speeds?

Hi Alex, I watched this this morning my time as part of my now new every morning routine. However, I had to think about this particular one before commenting and posting a question. I’m left handed. I write with my left hand, throw with my left hand, play tennis with my left hand and kick with my left foot predominately. However, I play golf right handed (I also bat for cricket as a right hander). I’m also a south paw. So, what I’m getting to is (as I was introduced to golf at the age of 6, am 47 now). Have I been playing with the wrong clubs purely based on this analogy? Maybe due to my father and his father who introduced me to golf. Both right handed. Me left and not having a set of left hander clubs available. I love this theory and would it be better for me to start all over again with left hander clubs? I’ve not been able to achieve a single digit handicap and am confident your tips will improve my game. My handicap is currently 12, however due to not playing as much (Covid related maybe) it was previously 10. I’ve practiced this drill with just a tennis ball as I also bowl with my left hand. I’ve always been a slicer as I know my top hand is the dominant one however since practicing your tips I’m now hitting it either straight or with a very slight hook as I’m using the bottom hand more. I’m also hitting the ball further. So, what is your advice? Stick to trying to continue my game playing as a right hander? Or bite the bullet and start all over again? I under this question might be different than the norm and I’m also wondering if others fall into this category. Keep up the great daily tips mate. Love your work and teaching style. 👍😎🇦🇺

Wow it’s a tough one, if you feel comfortable with being right handed then i would stay stick with that - but if you feel you can reach a different level by changing to left then it might be worked it. Thanks for the comment

@@AlexElliottGolf it is a tough one. To be honest I have pondered about it a couple of times and dismissed it. However since I’ve been watching and listening to your teaching style it really has made me think about it. I do know a few people at the club I’m a member of so I might just ask one if I could borrow a set and at least hit two buckets of balls at the driving range. It’s not that I’m unhappy with my current handicap or that I don’t love the game anymore, nor am I wanting to be hitting of scratch however a single digit has a nice ring to it. Anyhow, I am confident, just with the time I’ve been enjoying and paying attention to your tips that this alone will drop me below 10. I have entered 4 comps all within the next two months so I will hopefully see an improvement then. However, purely based on the lessons I’ve watched so far I know I’m hitting the ball much better on the range already. As you know, it is different when playing on a course. I appreciate the response. Thanks Alex. 👍😎🇦🇺
