This looks like the highest quality hose reel I have ever seen!

I just installed this for my mother who is 80+. She is able to unreel and reel it up easily. I will also be using the garden hose for my chores as well. Thank you for the review and recommendations.

Eley makes really good hoses as well. They are a nice grey color, and of all the "kinkless" hoses I've owned, these things truly are. You get what you pay for.

Great review! Best hose reel on the market bar none! If you haven't already discovered, that cam lock is adjustable. By tightening the screws on it you can adjust the tension on it in the locked position just enough so it doesn't overspool while unwinding yet still wind and unwind smoothly. This will prevent you from having to manually lock and unlock the cam each time.

We have the Eley Portable Garden Hose Reel Cart - the finest product on the market that is next to impossible to get in Canada. Purchased in summer 2017 and it has been excellent. We now have the Eley Wall Mount Garden Hose Reel for the front of our place. We found it at Southern Irrigation in Lethbridge, Alberta for $223.20 Canadian Dollars. This will work just as well as the Portable Hose Reel Cart as the connections and set up are the same. Give me Eley any day over Liberty or other brands as the side mount connection for the water line will not last over time. Eley provide everything to mount and put the Hose Reels together. One tool tightens everything up. Clever, well thought out products always from Eley. Simply the very best.

Nice. I think in the long run it won't seem overly expensive because the plastic ones aren't cheap and if you have to replace them in 4-5 years they end up costing more in the end.

Great reel. As far as running the hose through your hand. Add a small chain to the mounting bracket with a small clip to add a golfers towel with grommet. That way you can hold the towel in your hand while you are feeling it back in. Keeps your hands and hose clean.

I didn't know about this one. We already purchased a Liberty Garden 710 rotating reel. Unfortunately both Eley and Liberty Garden do NOT make their products in the US.

I may have missed it but is there a good brand for hoses? Mine kink and i know i need to get better but which brand? I don't want to go through a bunch to find the quality hose.

Very nice. It looks like it will last a long time ! What type of hose to you like to use. I have the highest grade to the lowest grade and I like the lowest grade better. It doesn't fight me like the heavier professional grade, and I don't swear as much ;) !!

Have you heard of retractable hose reels? Thats what we have here in Australia and is so much cheaper and easier to use

I need that! I live in zone 5 and wonder how the metal will hold up over winter (rust?). Is there a cover that comes with it to protect it during the snow??

Late response, but..I've got 2 of them, have had them up for two years. They come with a nice powder coat of paint on them, and I've seen no rust except in one tiny spot where the paint was scratched off. The brass swivel will burst if the hose is not drained for a hard freeze. Generally Eley will replace them.

Will the kink spring work with a 3/4" hose?

wow that was nice but 150.00 is a lot for a real that does not have that guide and automatic recoil. but still nice I will watch that item at the end of the year and see if it goes on sale and get one.

Can you do a video on you orchids again? I am a 1 year grower of orchids and I am 13 years old. I have learned some from my uncle and lots from my neighbor, which is a master gardener. I would love for you to make more orchid videos because it really inspires me.

Exactly, many kids in my class only enjoy social media and the newest trends, but in the real world when we get older, our gardening skills will be much more useful.

Why would you buy an Eley hose reel and NOT buy their hoses? They are the best hoses and the best customer service. I've ordered custom hoses from them so I could mount the hose reel farther away and had them in hand in 3 days.

Good vid without a lot of BS filler. Should have shown attaching the inside connection, but no big deal. As for the product, appears well engineered for function and durability, but kludgy and overpriced.
