Created on Feb 17th 2024, towards then end of my time at a residency in Joshua Tree. The piece is a response to my reflections on timescales, in this case geological timescales.

Visuals are created using Hydra (hydra.ojack.xyz/) using feedback techniques on source footage I recorded in Landers, California. The audio is created with SuperCollider and TidalCycles. SuperCollider is creating the rhythmical sounds using granular synthesis techniques, and TidalCycles creates the piano sequence. The piece is created live, where the mouse controls the visual parameters as well as the granular synth sounds (percussive and vocal sounds).
