In 1977, I was 22, and music took a seismic shift with Punk Rock, and the contrast of New Wave. By 1978, New Wave was my preference. I was 25 in 1980, and 30 in 1985. Living in Los Angeles, I bought Getting Away With It as an import UK CD single. The song with always sparkle. Today is the first time I saw the video!! Now you also know, many fans of this song didn't grow up in the 1980's. I just follow the music, decade after decade, buying it, and supporting bands and recording artists by seeing them in concert. Today, since the first decade of this century, I'm seriously into Alternative/Indie music. Fortunately, I've lived long enough to own and continue listening to music I've loved since 1960.

Brilliant arrangement
"I'm an original sinner but when I'm with you I couldn't care less....." Utter brilliance.
Whenever they sing, "all my life," it reminds me of the chorus in the song "Love My Way," by The Psychedelic Furs. Who agrees?

Apparently, my cat Winky loves this song, he comes running when its on.
New Order, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys was my holy trinity of music I'd listen to in late 80s to early 90s. When Electronic happened I was blown away. I wish they had made more albums.
"I'm an original sinner but when I'm with you I couldn't care less..." - one of the best lines ever??????

Wow, amazing how well this sound has aged. Loving it again after setting it aside for like 30 years.
This song is so elegant and classy! The melody flawlessly done. Voices excellent.
As a teen in the 80's we used to club a lot in my native Santo Domingo🇩🇴🌺 and this band was played religiously at clubs like OVNI, Columbus, Exodus, Alexander, Neon, etc. This music reminds me such good times! ❤
I NEVER get tired of listening to this Album!!! This Super Group was Gushing with Talent!!!
The middle guitar solo and the strings have always melted my heart Really an awesome pop song.
i remember the first time i heard this, it blew my mind. There is so much going on musically in this track. To have the collaboration of some of the most talented musicians of the eighties makes me proud to have been a part of that decade through my teens so to hear them all combined was like music heaven.
Ive Still got this on cassette.but saying that I'm a 55 year old 80s lad😁
Man what an amazing song. Bernard Sumner has such a distinctive voice, instantly recognizable by anyone who had a musical pulse in the 80s and 90s. Same with Neil. Throw in Johnny Marr and it makes a perfect blend of ear candy dance magic. Massive club hit back in the day.
What an absolute class song..i miss songs like this so catchy everytime it comes on the radio its turned up full blast..brilliant
Musical genius. Superb lyrics, great vocals. It's hard not to find something to love about this song.

How on earth did this not reach number one. Long live Bernard, Neil and Chris!
A song from what now seems like a much happier, innocent time.
EXCELLENT SONG⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Was a great day it was when I found this cassette in the Import section of Sam the Record Man in downtown Toronto in 1992. Fun fact - The instrumental version of this song has been used as the background music that plays during weather and traffic updates on local pop radio station BOOM 97.3 for a long time. Marr + Sumner + Tennant = perfection. p.s. - I like the album playout version of this track with the strings-only ending. Brilliant, brilliant song. Cheers from the north shore of Lake Erie!!

GRANDIOSO
I lived for this group in the late 80s early 90s... Electronic, pet shop boys/ new order= Electronic.
Still just as brilliant as the day it was released, but that's hardly surprising given the talent behind it. I was at school at the time, and used to regularly hang out with a couple of friends who loved this song too. For a while we had a little ritual - whenever we were at each other's houses, we'd listen to this song. :) We all had it in different formats - I had the cassette single, and the other two had it on CD and 12" vinyl, so we had a varied collection of the different mixes. Brings back some fond memories listening to it again. I'm actually not sure I ever saw this video at the time!
Special song ❤
Barney, Marr and Tennant..what a combo. 12" vinyl is gorgeous.
