It's one hell of a song. I was just being born when this song came out. It definitely is one of those songs you wish there was an ∞ setting on the volume dial =) We need a rebirth of rock in the next decade-a neo-rock and roll that pays homage to this remarkable genre. Truly talented musicians wrote epics like these, like Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven or Pink Floyd & countless other towering talents back when music had a soul and heart like no other. =) God I want our triumphalism of the of the days before y2k back. It seemed like the world was becoming a bitchin place where we could do anything and _we could sell sanctuary_

I was 37. My girlfriend 18. She gave me the cassette on which you find this song back in 85... I would have love to start a family with her. But contrary to my wishes she told her dad my age... He disagreed of us being together from the start. A very frustrated teacher... Who had never gone out of his region. That messed her up...Learned that she had a few kids from different men. I hope she found peace. I never forgot her... Bye Marielle!

Great tune and riff' but nonsense lyric's.....but cant help love it.

We just saw them in Vegas back in Oct. '23. This album came out when I was a junior in high school. A whole new subculture was born in Fort Worth. You had to be really down to understand The Cult man.

Blimey! When that signature tune breaks in, i hear 90s nostalgic times! This song was way ahead of its time, if it came in the early 80s. 😭❤️

We'd always go out in a group and whenever this song came on, everybody would storm the dance floor!! Now every once in a while, I need to hear it. I crank it up and play it over and over!

What I’ve always loved about The Cult was they bridged rock, punk, goth rock, and elements new wave, being arguably one of the earliest alternative rock band. Really brilliant and a true classic in the truest sense of the word

I remember dancing like mad to this one.

Listening to this in 2024. Having a beer and the volume up.😂 Simple Minds ,The Cure etc got more headlines but the Cult were so underrated. Brilliant band. Long live them.

I think I have listen to this song 20 plus times in a roll tonight. This was perhaps the best days in my life 80s; no doubt.

Seriously. One of the greatest songs ever written!

I was lucky enough to see them live in the 80's several times - easily in my top 5 bands of all time - blew me away

Still sounds fresh 38 years later, amazing album and band

Yeah, now I see where Johnny Marr got his influences! It's amazing that nowadays we can go back in history and check this kind of stuff and be like "Oh, it makes sense". What a life that must have been for him!

Takes me right back to 1985. I was 14 years old and just figuring out what life was all about. The 80's were a great time to be a teenager. 50 years old now and I still love this song.

When I was a t School in the 80's Our English teacher married the Bass Player !! The Pics from the wedding were amazing ! No one else knew who he was, only cos my Sister loved them i knew. Still absolutely Love them x

I saw these guys live in 1986 at the Orpheum in Boston. 4th row. The entire place goes dark and then you hear Billy Duffy play those opening cords. A spot streams down. We all go insane. BEST. CONCERT. EVER. (Really)

Absolutely fantastic ,I’m nearly 75 and so glad I can enjoy the brilliant sounds of The Cult,I missed them in the 80’s ,too busy,such a shame I can’t dance to them now due to my joints !

Wasn't a massive hit at the time but it will be part of their pension plan forever down their generations. I got the album "Love" when this came out. Well worth a look.

The sparkle in your seeing souls keeps me alive. Yeah yeah!

Billys tone is incredible! underrated guitar player! Great Band !!

This song never gets old. The year it came out I was halfway through high school. This is an example of how good the music was in the 1980’s was. Great times back then.

The song is like the best drug in the world the day I started listening to it I can't stop listening to it I have to wake up to it now it just makes you want to move

One of the best rock songs ever, you can't get enough of the riffs. The drums are insane. Ian is at his utmost in this song.

From what I remember, Mark Brezecki played drums for them on the Love album, but She Sells Sanctuary, which he is in the video for, is one song he didn't play the drums on the album. Still Amazing after nearly 40 years - I had it on cassette mid 80's.

I'm 74 and loved the feel good music of the 80s.

Born in 1972, lives through the 80s and listen to music all the time, and imagine, discover this gem this summer at the age of 50 years old. Can´t understand how I could miss this song. Been played loud every day since this summer, and will continue to do so!
