Electronic drumming with drumKAT, DW pancake gong drum, and djembe

Музыка

I have a 20-inch DW pancake gong drum, which I really enjoy. I was wishing I had several of them, so I could tune to different pitches. But of course, where would I put them all? Anyway, I decided to sample mine at different pitches (sample, retune, sample, etc.) using sticks, rods, and brushes-at a variety of velocities, of course. Now I can play multiple pancake drums on my drumKAT.
For the "snare" sound here, I'm using a small, inexpensive Toca djembe that I bought years ago and sampled around the same time as the pancake drums.
I liked the combo of sounds and textures (rods on pancake drums, hands on djembe), which I wouldn't have been able to do acoustically.
Equipment:
-Alternate Mode drumKAT Turbo
-Alternate Mode eKIC triggers
-Alternate Mode eHAT
-DW Pancake Gong drum (sampled)
-Toca djembe (sampled)
-Zildjian cymbals (sampled New Beat hi hat and Large-Bell Raw Crash)
-DW 18-inch bass drum (sampled)
-Blue Hummingbird mics and AKG D112 for sampling
-Logic Pro (for recording, sampling, and sample plackback with Sampler)
-Apogee Element 88 and Duet 3 for sampling and mixing
-Fujifilm X100V camera
-Final Cut Pro
