    I heard that on all Electrolux models you do not have access to clean the pump filter unlike the other manufactures. Is this true? I have hard water and you have to clean this filter once a year and I don't want to take the machine apart to do this. Thank you.

    5 Stars for the Electrolux Frontload Washer- 500 Series-ELFW7637AW- Clothes get clean. Affords a shorter drying time. Allows for some amount of customizing cycles. Spins quietly unless an unbalanced load occurs in which case the cycle will auto stop for rearrangement. IF it allowed for an off or on, light-in-the tub setting, it would be perfect. There is a light each time the door is opened, but only for a short duration. No disappointment.

    I bought the Electrolux front loader washer after doing a lot of research and reading many reviews. It worked great! I could load a lot of clothes into it and to my surprise really did a great job of getting them clean. Was exceptionally quiet. I loved it... for about 2 years. Then the electronics started messing up. Very $$$ to have fixed. Ended up fixing it myself which caused many sleepless nights. 6 months later, same problem again. I hear many of the newer washers from various manufacturers have this same problem. At least that's what people say on the reviews I read.

    Its called engineered obsolescence. It goes hyper as economies begin to collapse. The only survival for the system is consumer spending, so they make products cheaper and cheaper to reduce life longevity. I opened a burned out light bulb to show my wife how the engineering worked. The problem was a simple filament fuse that was designed to open after so many hours of use. I bridged the filament and the bulb worked fine. When I buy things I am constantly finding the need to re engineer them so as to remove the obsolescence designed into the product. I feel bad for the people who do not have that ability.

    @@dk4wncp It was an incandescent light bulb, I unsoldered the base and found a hair thin filament where the base entered the sealed glass. I replaced the broken filament and the bulb itself worked fine. I see this kind of obsolescence engineering in practically everything. The only reason for such a device is to burn out within a specified time.

    We bought Electrolux washer and dryer back in May 2022 and we have had issues from day one. The washer was exchanged for a new one withing the first 7 days because it will not run the clock. The dryer made a noise the first couple of times and then went away. 2 months after the same noise came back and had not stopped since. They had come for repairs over 6 times in less than 6 months and the dryer is still making the same noise. They keep giving us the run. Every time they send a new technician and the outcome is ALWAYS the same. But apparently Electrolux can not figure out that the same issue, same repairs always yield the same results. In the meantime, all they are doing is letting our warranty run. These are some of the most expensive dryers out there. We were explained by the first technician that these dryers really do not have too many parts, that when they need repair they are usually wrong from the start. But yet, they won't honor their word of changing the machine after the third repair. We have had service over 6 times on the same issue and their response is always the same, let's try one more time. I am sure at some point they were good product, but right now they are not. Stay away from these products, unless you want a new product that works worse than a 20 years old machine.

    I do follow your channel which is very educational. I wonder if you will be able to help answer a question, I see you very strongly recommend Electrolux 763 Washer & dryer. I love it but the only flawback I see is the absence of preload of washing liquid- which dispenses detergent over a period of time. Would you suggest spending an extra $400 ish for this for the LG4500 series? My other concern is LG lack of customer support as compared to Electrolux.

    I have the same problem with an older model.at first I thought there was something wrong with the machine when I first started to use it. I add more water using my shower head extended from my bathroom to the initial water injection and during the rinses. I always run my clothes through another cycle to make sure all the soap is rinsed out! I hate these energy efficient washers because you don't have a choice of the machine adding more water if that's what you want. I can add only so much more water or the machine will stop and drain the water out. It does not matter how much clothes I put in so I tend not to wash big loads at one time. Its crazy that after so many cycles you have to wash the washing machine etc. And always leave the door open. This tells me the machines are not washing out all the dirt etc from the clothes!

    June 10, 2022: Just took delivery of my new Electrolux washer less than 4 hours ago, I couldn’t be more disappointed! This machine is a bust! My first load was a normal cycle with one pod. At the end of the wash there was soap suds all over the inside of the glass door. I decided to just wash the load again, this time with no soap! At the end of the second wash, there are still traces of soap suds around the glass door. No, I did not use too much soap, again one pod. The machine allows for up to two, which I would never dare to use. Watching the machine working it seems the tumbling cycles are very weak. Also, perhaps the machine does not use enough water to rinse the soap out. Electrolux may think it’s better for the environment to do all wash loads twice. Yes, I’m aware of the separate rinse and spin option available, the machine should not have to require me to use it, especially since I’m using it correctly.

    I agree with you. Just took possession of a 500 series washing machine. I caved in and bought this because manufacturers are forcing consumers to ditch top loaders. My GE was a top load and only lasted 4 years. The reviews on other brand top loaders were less than stellar, hence, front loaders for reliability. I am old school; top loaders for me. I never liked front loaders and still don't. But as I mentioned, consumers are being pushed to front loaders.

    I have had to run my clothes through one ore even two extra cycles to get to the point I don't see suds in the door and I have always used less detergent because my clothes are not that dirty. The electrolux and most of these energy efficient machines simply do not use enough water to clean and rinse the loads. My biggest gripe is why don't manufacturers give consumers a choice of how much water they want to use!

    My Electrolux dryer died after about 5 years use by a single person and it has been more than two solid months trying to get it repaired, I have bought a new motor for $300 and nothing, I am waiting for a capacitor but no one will say what exactly is wrong. The error code is worthless as it could mean any of 3 different expensive things. Waiting on the phone to Electrolux repair is as bad as calling Comcast. I'd throw it (and the Electolux washer) out if they weren't built into the closet. I would avoid these products.

    Now after all the nice small talk, go look at the DISMAL ratings for Electrolux washers by Consumer Reports, in regards to reliability.

  • @brenthegerhorst6152
    @brenthegerhorst6152 Жыл бұрын

    The problem with these reviews is that they talk about all of the features etc. but never about the reliability and longevity. Well I wish they would. I would have never got an Electrolux if they did. Bought an Electrolux efls627 washer 2 years ago. The main bearing on the tub is already going. Owned LG and Samsung and the bearings went out in 5 years and I thought that was bad. Bought this due to good ratings. Not good for longevity or reliability. Really cheaply built. Most washers now still use clamps to retain hoses so they stay in place and don't leak. Not Electrolux they use wire ties. So you have to cut them off and buy new wire ties to take hoses on and off. The Samsung and LG front load washer had balance weights that were metal or a really hard composite of cement and some kind of resin. Not this crappy Electrolux. It has a poor quality of cement. You have to be careful taking them off while disassembling the washer for fear they will crumble. I bought the washer because it was highly rated. That was due to features and hype. Don't buy this thing unless you want to replace it in 2 years. Replacing the tub bearing requires buying the rear tub assembly. That part costs around $400 (I got an open box off of eBay for 250) But if you had a repair man do this, the part would cost at least $400 and the repair labor would likely be over $200. So you are paying over $600 dollars to repair a washer that is only worth $800. So unless you want to Spend at least $800 dollars every two years don't buy Electrolux. By the way. Working on this thing is horrible as well. This thing is the biggest POS I have ever seen. Makes me certain I will buy LG the next time. Oh, and they mix SAE and metric to make it even more fun.

    CRAP! I bought an Electrolux 700 series front loader Washer/Dryer within the past year (2023). I went against my better judgement having purchased Electrolux washer dryers (again, front loading) about 10 years ago in our previous home which were also awful. The sales people highly endorsed the Electrolux and I sadly bought in to their schtick! Shame on me for that one! "GREEN" settings programmed into these machines are their downfall. 1) No matter how much vinegar, tide cleaning powder, self cleaning mode etc. the laundry smells awful - goes with the territory of front loaders not just Electrolux. 2) You have to run the machine multiple times to get a proper rinse or you will have suds despite using HE detergent AND cutting back on the low end of recommended amount of soap/detergent. 3) The auto settings on the dryer leaves clothes damp to wet. 4) The Instant Refresh cycle - I used it and could NOT get the dryer to stop feeding water into the drum and RUINED TWO Pairs of Brooks Brothers trousers that I was trying to freshen up before a business trip. I had to shut off the water and disconnect the hose to the dryer. I wanted so much to like these machines but they cannot SUCK enough!!!
