    Tone that's good for the soul! For my European friends who have been asking, you can get the Soul Food here: www.thomann.de/gb/electro_harmonix_soul_food.htm?ofid-1&affid=203 And for my fellow Americans: amzn.to/1Wyi6Z4

    I absolutely love my Soul Food. I had a tube screamer and a boss ds1 at one point and this pedal is by far my favorite even for my 8 string guitar.

    Yet another great demo. Youre one of the top reviewers on KZread. Love how you demo it in the mix, then a play through of just the device itself, then closing thoughts. How you have less than 1k subs blows my mind. Keep up the vids, theyre awesome!

    I have to agree with Chris. I just found your reviews this evening, an I subscribed right way, as well as saved your blog to my favorites and like your Facebook page. Your reviews are perfect, and the guitar riffing is f'ing awesome.

    Haha, I really appreciate that man. As I've said elsewhere in some other comment I just try to make useful videos that aren't complete shit and I think I'm slowly starting to get the hang of it :)

    Dude - every time I want to check out a piece of gear, an Agufish pops up on my screen. Excellent work as always. Epiphone just released a 1955 Gibson tribute with American P-90's for $800. It may be the nicest Chinese guitar I've ever played. Based on your love for all things shaped like an LP and guitars in that under $1000 price range, you might want to take a look. As always, killer job - I bought the Soul Food.

    I friggin love my Soul Food pedal! On my small practice amp I use it with a Moore Rage Machine, which makes for a wicked sound. On my Marshall (aka the big amp in the garage), I use it with the amps overdrive channel, and it sounds fantastic. I also use it with the clean channel along with a Moore Acoutikar and a few other effects and it gives me a great funk, or even New Wave sound, depending on the effects used.

    Great review. I hear many good things about the Soul Food pedal. I like the way it enhances the sound. FYI the link to buy it led me to the Electro-Harmonix East River Drive Classic Overdrive Pedal.

    Hey man !! I was looking for a pedal to use in front of my Peavey 6505 combo to tighten the tone.. but I didn’t wanna go with the usual ts9/808 etc. I was looking at the Wampler Tumnus, Precision Drive and the soul food.. opinions ?? Thanks

    If your into DYI, madbeans or Aion sell a PCB with great documentation to build your own. If that's not for you, the Soul food is as close to the Klon Centaur as you can get. Great demo hunter!

    +Agufish your playing is awesome. but the clean, lead as your switching through letting a guy know when it's all pedal is clear. and however you mic up is perfect. Sounds so clear. keep them commin

    Have to get you a Digitech Drop for your D tuned riffage only one guitar needed. Like 179.00 Lil Spendy but worth the investment.

    I actually had no idea a Joyo version existed, but I shouldn't be surprised. I've reached out to Joyo to see if they'd be interested in sending me one to demo. Fingers crossed!

    Man, you make everything sound so good. But I'm worried to get any more pedals as a lot of demo videos uses really good amps (like your Dual Rectifier, for instance). I have a Marshall MG50CFX, at times it sounds good, at times it sounds bad. Not sure if it's my settings or the speakers on the combo sucks. ;/

    I've never been a fan of the Marshall MG series. My advice is to look into getting your first tube amp. That'll make a world of difference and will benefit a lot more from pedals than your solid-state Marshall. If you do stick with it though, the Soul Food is a really good pedal that should give you a clean overdrive no matter what amp you use.

    ***** A relative of mine will have his DSL40B delivered to him this week. I'm so eager to try it out and hear how it sounds like. Honestly, I think the biggest issue with my MG50CFX is the speaker Marshall made with it. It's absolute garbage.

  • @agufish

    @agufish

    I've even had a problem getting the MG100HCFX (at least I think that was the model number) head sounding good with a Mesa 2x12. I just picked up a DSL100H off of Craigslist and I have to say the DSL series is a heck of lot of Marshall for the money. That amp takes pedals like a champ as well.

    ***** Honestly, I'm running it through a Behringer UM300 that my friend gave to me, so I can't really complain or say anything. Although I can say that the MG50CFX do sound bad even without the pedal. I'm still new to these pedals thingy though, I only started using the MG50CFX seriously after I got the UM300. I've only been playing the guitar off an amp sim. Do you have any advices (as to where I should run the pedals, from the input or the loop, etc.)? We're both metalheads, so yeah. :p

    Can anyone tell me if it's any good as a solo sound booster? It sounds great on riffs but what about soloing? Will it help my guitar to cut through the mix?

  • @benjaminj3934

    @benjaminj3934

    Don't have this pedal unfortunately, but if you are only looking for solo boost you might want to consider a linear booster in the amps effects loop. If you are playing fast, high gain lead solos a compressor like Boss cs-3 might be an option too.

  • @raze1012
    @raze10127 жыл бұрын

    Don't take this the wrong way but I've recently subscribed to your channel and one thing I've noticed is that you can't really tell the way a pedal or guitar actually sounds cause there's just so much gain. It would be nice to actually hear how certain pedals or pickups react without the gain on eleven. Just my opinion. Otherwise keep rocking!

  • @agufish

    Keep watching? Says in the top right if the pedal is on or off as a boost and then I go through both a clean and dirty isolated track with the pedal on and off.
