Electric Vans: Should You Make the Switch?

Ойын-сауық

In this week's episode of eFIXX TV, we're diving deep into the world of electric vans. Is it time for electricians to ditch diesel and move toward an electric future? To tackle this question, we've gathered a panel of experts, including Martyn Lee, host of the @EVNewsDaily podcast, EV specialist and used vehicle dealer @nicholasraimondo81 and Lee Morris of, @MorzakEV, an electrician who's already embraced the electric van lifestyle.
Join us as we explore everything from the latest electric van models to pricing for new, used, and leased options and the practical considerations of operating an electric van.

If your average work day is x amount of km and the van will comfortable do x km and you can charge it overnight then it makes so much sense to switch.

I’m sorry I didn’t make the live stream . Great show guys. I’m still Ice ice baby 😄🚐 same as the 94% of us not convinced by the EV thing . I imagine the huge weight of these vehicles will come at a cost to the already decrepit road network of the UK . They have their place I guess. 😄

Vauxhall, Citroen and Peugeot right hand drives usually made in Luton if you want to support British manufacturing. Transit Customs' probably have no UK content these days.

Great point - people think MG is a British brand because of the history but it really isn’t, and as you say, buying something like the Stellantis vans is supporting British jobs!

@@NicolasRaimo Not enough range,, too long to charge, too expensive, I job about don’t want to be caught miles from home and then have to wait for the to charge to go home. Talked to an open reach worker the other day he loves his as he said he doesn’t have to do as many calls because he spends loads of time charging his van Absolutely not practical for me being self employed Like I said I want no part of this nonsense

@@mikewhitby2686 it all depends on how many miles a day you do. The open reach vans are probably models with poor range like the Vito - I don’t know why so many companies went for this van. I did that trip to Yorkshire and back with one charge, are you really doing more than 140 miles a day?

@@MorzakEV I often do much more than 140 miles I sometimes travel to 5-6 jobs a a day loaded up with gear The evs aren’t even close to being good enough. Nor do I want or need the hassle of being low on charge and not getting home As I said never for me

Fair enough on currently, but I don’t see it being that long before vans are doing 300plus miles, and then you’ll be sorted, so I wouldn’t say never. You’ll be amazed how much you can save

More petrol and diesel cars as a percentage catch fire than EVs, just check out the stats. It just get sensationalised in the press because it makes catchy headlines.

Have you seen the fires? Or just read about it in the anti-EV press? I've been driving EVs for 6 years and never had an issue charging. Nobody is forcing you to buy an EV they are just another option which may or may not suit your personal circumstances.

Spot on, the bubble has burst, they are absolute junk, the only people pushing them now are the people that need them to continue as heavily invested in them due to having an EV business, sell them, etc etc. I speak with real people, who have/use them, and the feedback I get compared to what Is being portrayed is a different story, they are not fit for purpose, depreciate rapidly, range non existent, a disposable vehicle, crash them... Even slightly and written off, the list against them goes on and on, all the above are facts, people are switching back as quick as they made the switch, people are.stuck in negative equity due to rapid depreciation. Stay away, without all the lies and government incentives they wouldn't even have made it 1 year.
