I have a Mocca E and after 2months I am glad I chose this model. It drives superbly, is comfortable and all round visibility is good. There are afew things which are annoying. First thing is the use of the shiny plastic in the front, forever cleaning it. Another thing is the lack of space in the boot. Once you have charged the car the charging lead takes up a lot of the available space. I feel that the front seat belts should be adjustable for height is another annoying point. Ther is no 12 volt supply point in the rear of the vehicle, this is very useful for drivers when camping or for a cool box on a day out. I had a Grandland X before this Mocca and it had rear view mirrors which tilted down when reverse is selected, a extremely useful thing to have when reversing in a very tight spot. Not essential I know but being disabled I found it helpful. Over all I am pleased with my choice and for those who like a bit of Vip when pulling away or entering a motorway from the access lane the Sport mode is great.
thankyou for the honest review, were about to place an order for a mokka-e ultimate and other the the paid or reviews by people who only just got the car its nice to see a hands on review to see all the bits you dont get to hear from the dealer

I am thinking of going electric in July,and need to order in a few weeks.My BMW grand tourer (7 seater),only gets around 25mpg around town.Don't need 7 seats anymore,so looking to save a bit on running costs.I only drive around town,motorway driving extremely rare so not an issue.I was looking at the Mokka e,so your review was very helpful for me.I am able to get the ultimate edition if i want it,and hope to view and test drive next week.

What you could try is when your at home connect the mokka E to your home wifi and update it the system. That might sort out the road speed thing 👍

I tried both. They come with the same battery and some how get the same miles even though the Mokka is bigger. For me it came down to size and looks. The Mokka is bigger, looks a lot nicer and nicer inside. It was worth the extra money.
Just an update for everyone from my previous comment,i have this week ordered a brand new Mokka e.I did order the ultimate edition,but here in the U.K there is a 8 month waiting list.So hope to see it around January 2023,but most brands are suffering similar delays of new vehicles.

Great review mate. Shame Vauxhall still uses that finger print loving plastic. If you wipe it to hard with a microfiber cloth it actually scratches it, so keep to the wipes 😂. All in all though it looks like a good motor. The style is awesome, will be de- badging mine when I get it, they look even better then, people don't know what it is lol. x
Pick my Mokka e ultimate next week really looking forward to it. What apps would you recommend for charging on the go? I’ve set up BP Pulse and Shell already. Any help would be appreciated

There are loads of apps. I would get these apps as well. Podpoint (Tesco tend to have them) InstaVolt (lots of motorway services have them) be.ev (local councils use them so quite a few in the north west) I’m sure there will be loads more. So many popping up everywhere.

I think the parking cameras are great. Really clear. 👍
I have had 1 of these for a few days now. and my 60mph 54 mile drive suggests 179 mile range. That is in eco with B on. Driving at 70 does destroy the range, but it was the same in the id3 demo I had for half a day. If you can accept driving at 55 - 60mph on the motorway and drive smoothly 170 - 180+ is easily doable in fine weather. Don't get me wrong i would prefer an id3 but I don't want to wait 15 months for one :-)

I’ve never tried that. I will give that a go later.
I've got a Kona Electric 64kwh which gives me a practical range of 250 miles most of the time. I'll be honest, if I didn't have it on Motability there is no way I could have afforded to buy it at £29,000, but I love it, I charge at home I reckon it costs me about £16 per week.

@Tarot Tales (on the Great Reset and BEYOND....!!) Motability installed it for free, I'm very unlikely to move as I'm retired and have lived in the same house over 30 years. I've done 14, 000 miles in a year so my weekly average is 270 miles per week.
@aldish25
3 ай бұрын
270miles/4miles per kWh/67kwh x0.24p , that's 16 pounds. 16 pounds will get you 10-11 liters of fuel,on motorway you can get max 130-140 miles on that,in town around 100miles
You need to set it to public charging or use a different ev charge browser.
Do you find that if you connect to the ap on your phone to monitor the car it zaps the power in the battery and effects the range ?
@GillyBikes

I found the app to be a pain. It very rarely worked for me and never did if it had less than 50% battery.
I / we only do a few 'long distance' journeys a year as a family, so the reduced motorway mileage wouldn't bother me. Still rocking 2 x Diesel's, both doing 55mpg. Main problem is our less than 8k (combined!) annual miles. Replacing our main vehicle (2nd hand but full spec Nissan Qashqai) with an SUV EV wouldn't get anywhere near to saving money, in fact even the MG ZS (tall family) would end up costing us an extra £300-400pm.
@GillyBikes
2 жыл бұрын
On those figures it’s not worth changing. For me I’m saving about £100 per month on fuel and a few hundred more a year due to zero tax. I think the cost of the new cars will have to come down more before everyone makes the change.

So we have had a petrol automatic Mokka for 12 months. So the lane control is a pain. Getting in the back is another issue. So kids will be ok but if your an adult you will have issues getting in and out. We have the keyless entry. We have given up on this as it is so temperamental. Then one big issue is when we go to open the car with the key fob. We find the car will not open. The key fob stops working. So we have a trick now to get round this. We have to open and close the boot. Which I am guessing because we have keyless entry it allows us to do this. Then the key fob comes back to life. We can now open the car with the key fob. The car has been back 7 times to the dealer. Still not fixed.
@GillyBikes
2 жыл бұрын
Wow. That is an absolute pain. The only issues I’ve had. A couple of times the keyless entry hasn’t worked. But it let me open the boot. Then it let me open the doors. Very recently access to the charging point is sticking. I need to stick something in to pop it open. That’s annoying. I’ve seen quite a bit online about the door lock issue. Think that is happening to all of them. Last I heard was it was a software issue and they were working on an update. Hopefully be sorted soon.
I will be sticking with my 1.6 diesel Astra which has 750 miles off range and 70 mpg

How much is a full tank? Its been costing me £110 to fill my 2.0 seat leon and that's about 600 miles with 62mpg.. compared it to my partners mokka e and if we were to pay £110.. that's equivalent to 16 full charges and a range of roughly 2400 miles based on 150 mile range each full charge which is absolutely crazy.. made me realise that even though my diesel is good on fuel it is nothing compared to electric

Wow your lucky. We have quite a few 7kwh chargers at supermarkets but not many fast ones. And the ones we have are often broken. I keep seeing companies making big charging stations with 6 plus chargers. The nearest one of those to where is live is about 30 miles away. 🥹
I got Vauxhall Mokka E 2022, I love it, I think i have made the right decision, its beautiful it's lovely to drive, great features, safety is amazing smooth drive. I live in North East Newcastle there is a lot of charging point near by. I think you need to change some setting for the Fan, temperature, & AC. The battery will work better. I have done few setting, lower the temperature. Lower the fan.

I’ve sold it now. I really liked it and would not have considered changing it but I changed jobs and the drive to work was all motorway. The range was shocking on the motorway so it ment charging every night. I had far to many nervous moments driving home with very low range. The worst being pulling into my drive when it said 1 mile remained. I do miss during it around town though.

Hopefully they will be fixed on recall. The joys of buying a new model.
My wife has an identical white SRI NAV Premium Mokka E, and we have found that it, probably like all Stellantis EVs, stubbornly refuses to let a home smart charger do it's job of controlling the EV charging. Instead of that the Mokka E has a "Delayed Start Charging" function built in which must be used to align the charging with a cheap rate electricity tariff. If you want to look after your EV lithium-ion battery it is common knowledge that operating within the 20%-80% start of charge is best, limiting charging to 100% to only when necessary when a very long journey is about to be done. For the rest of the time unfortunately for some reason there isn't an "End charging" option, therefore charging will always proceed to 100% unless manually stopped by unlocking the doors and unplugging etc. Obviously if you don't care about the longevity of your battery then keep charging it to 100%, even when it's not necessary. Hope this helps.
@GillyBikes

I unfortunately don’t have a cheap rate tariff. It’s the same at night as it is during the day. I do normally charge overnight and don’t set any timers so it always goes to 100% ☺️

They vary so much. . Each provider charge what they want so prices do vary. I’ve not charged mine at a services for a while. Must be 6 months ago and then it was about £25 but prices have shot up since then.
The cup holder comments were very picky, obviously an oversize cup wont fit, that cup wouldn't fit in a RR cup holder, thats complaining for complaining sake. The insurance alone is enough to put me off, 73 year old, midlands, no points or accidents etc. £860 PA, not on your life.
My Mokka E has a DAB radio fault and sadly 6 month down the line still waiting on a fix. Apart from that I love the car and charging at home through OVO energy is only costing me 6.7p KWH which in lay man terms the car running costs are around 3p a mile. Bargain
