When that job is done, they are cast out, and many elderly end up in social housing, rarely get a visit from their "loving kids" and become an economical burden on their hosts, benefits included. Thing is in Australia, they rely so much on international students for the economy they are very relaxed in chasing them down. When I was at uni there were always students who couldn't speak the language and never did any work, yet they Always managed to get through. I think they may have got a different grading system or had credits from taking English classes. We once asked to kick out a guy who never turned up and didn't speak English in our final year project, and they just told us to make it work.
