Jev when you fight the boss in the bottom right be sure to summon the NPC, the voice actor went crazy

To add to this its on the right side of town to the north not left side (left side being the side with the grace at the top of it)

The enemy that had commander Giaus's greaves is an albanauric woman. Gaius is an albanauric as well and the woman is his girlfriend. The reason why she has his pants is because despite the fact they were made for him they do not fit him so he can't wear them. He was protecting his girl Jev. you killed him and his girl jev. Feel guilty?

@@Horsebandit571 The item decription specifically says it was viewed as a "cruel joke". I'm not sure how much of the Albanaurics you know about, but they are a race of people born unable to use their legs. And eventually, everyone will have their legs fade away from existence. At that moment, the albanauric will die. The reason why it's still so close, however, it because his rememeberance also states he was a close friend to Messmer. So it could be that even though it was cruel and it was something he could never use, he did still at least value the item as it did come from a friend

The emote is “o mother” found to the left or north of bonny village near a tree. That area is more for the big Church to the right of Shadow Keep’s Questline and it does lead to a Remembrance boss. So i’d suggest going to that big church on the map. It’s dope asf

Gauis is an Albinauric and fought along side messmer. However, given that he is an Albinauric his legs started to disappear which is why he rides the boar and doesnt have legs during the fight. Thus explaining why you dont get his leg armor from him.

Jev for lore reasons just press square on the item to get information, it tells you why gaius could not wear those pants.

That stupid Scadutree avatar, I used flame of flame of redmanes, and fire boosting talismans, and the physick fire boost to kill it. It still took a while though.

An easier way is to use blasphemous blade, shard of Alexander, both the ritual sword and shield talismans, and then the fire charm talisman. Put on tanky armor for poise and just stay under him he can’t rlly get you w most moves and the BB melts his health away.

just hit his head, I did each phase in like 10 hits with messmers spear. 2 talismans for defense, i'm not sure what kinda non-physical dmg it does, maybe fire or holy or both, but I used a pearldrake talisman +3 and the dragoncrest one for 20% more physical or something like that. Then I used blessing of the erdtree for dmg negation against all non-physical affinities. Also had rakshashas armor on and was fine on defense.

Jev, go where the burning boats are in shadow keep, and on the right side with those 3 boats, check the north railing. There is a hidden ladder that leads to a whole area and remembrance boss

Jev you have to imbue the nectar at St.Trina 4-6 times for a new dialogue, dialogue begins after the fourth time

Honestly the scadutree avatar reminds me of Old demon king from DS3, the way the music gets really sad and the thing trying so desperately to stay alive.

Jev, there is a small sewer system underneath shadow keep that eventually leads to a brand new area that has a remembrance boss. I recommend checking it out.

Jev the item you got from the Sunflower Scadutree avatar is REALLY important (it can save you from something towards the end game i wont spoil it so just know its very useful towards the end please read its item description!) Also Gaius has no pants because hes an albinauric! He was likely born without legs and fused to the boar. If you read the pants it says they were given to him as a cruel joke for Gaius could never wear them. (item descriptions are awesome dont forget to inspect them!)

There's a remembrance boss connected to Count Ymir's questline, which can be started at the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, which is to the right of the shadow keep, after you talk to Ymir and Jolan inside the cathedral you have to go to both of the giant finger ruins and blow a horn at both of them (you can return to the cathedral after the 1st ruin for dialogue and items) after youve done both ruins return to the cathedral talk to Ymir, rest and then something opens up inside next to Ymir, hope this helps ❤

Gaius doesn't have legs so that person made him pants as a joke. If you push x on the pants it tells you.

Gaius doesn't where any greaves since he doesn't have functional legs, he's an Albinauric (like a few other characters), all albinaurics eventually become crippled. read his greaves' item description.

First tried Messmer but struggled on the flower. Elden Ring in a nutshell.

You have to do the "O' Mother" emote in front of the statue to the right of the Shadow Keep, Back Gate grace. Going to the center of the finger area is part of a side quest that leads to a remembrance boss. You can start the quest by going to the Cathedral south west of Shadow Keep. You get there by going down these holes in the Moorth Ruins west of the Highroad Cross grace. You have to go to other finger area in the south as well. Honestly might have to look up a guide if you want to get that quest done and beat the hidden Remembrance boss.

Jev in the shadow keep there is a secret coffin leading to one of the coolest bosses in the game. Its quite early in shadow keep in the begining when you walk up some stairs you Can go to the ledge and jump Down leading to a ladder and the coffin

the reason gaius didnt wear his pants is because he was an albinauric, and at a certain point in an albinaurics life, they lose their legs

I’m so glad someone else has struggled with this boss, it was on the bottom of a bunch of ranking lists, but I found him so hard!

Jev you should get the dagger talisman if you don’t have it already, it boosts critical hits so when you get those free crits after a stagger it hits harder

The weopon drop from the sunflower is awesome, I maxed it out once I got it. You carry around the things head and use as it a hammer. Its weapon art is nice when fighting one on one targets., just bash them into the ground lmao

0:27 I believe there's some emote called "O Mother" in the area called "Bonny Village" and the room with the statue is to the right of the Commander Gaius fog wall. I believe that's how you get into that area

1. u need the o mother emote found in bonny village and second you need to press square on ps5 or x on xbox while hovering the pants and it will tell you all the lore of each item and talisman.

If Jev ever gets a hold of the two handed talisman it’s gg for all these bosses

Jev when you're on the way to jagged peaks you'll meet a guy named igon, do talk to him if you wanna complete his quest but i recommend summoning him at the top, as he makes the boss fight so cinematic possibly the best boss fight.

jev, hit either y or x when youre looking at an item in your inventory to see it's detailed description: its how a ton of lore is pieced together, and it wouldve told you why gaius' pants weren't on him or in the remembrance of champions shop

The gestur u need is O'Mother,its in bonny village.also i highly recommend u get the Bloodfiend arm and ancient meteorite ore greatsword. U can get the meteoric greatsword in ruined forged starfall pass, and can get the Bloodfiend arm from club wielding bloodfiends and especially can get it 100% garranteed at prospect town. Btw miquellas rune can be used to counteract one of the final bosses one shot attacks. Shadow keep is pretty much the central yharnam and cathedral ward of the dlc. I know u dont use buffs much at all but vykes dragonbolt give alot dmg u should give it a try.

I was surprised, every other DLC main boss took me hours and hours to beat. Took me 2 tries to defeat Messmer as you said I wish it took longer. The fight is so cool and the character design is probably my favorite of all time.

Omg finally, someone big finally made a video on the sunflower boss that isn't a guide on how to get to it

If you want to there is a talisman that is able to increase you two handed weapon. Its is in the ruins that are located inside the ravine below the bridge from the shadow keep to the west at the top of the map.

Hey Jev! With the sunflower of death guy if you do the crit on the stager when you kill phase 1 or 2 it’ll spawn back with less health

The way across that bridge you were talking about leading to the green area is on the first floor of the store house. A little straight an to the left there should be a door way that leads to an open room and further up there should be an elevator. Use that and explore around there and you’ll find the way to the bridge.

Don’t forget that you can read item descriptions of weapons, armor, consumables, etc. like with Gaius’ pants

you need the "o mother" gesture to get past the statue and to get it, you gotta go through the underground part of the moorth ruins to get to bonny village and then the gesture is on the left side of the area next to a withered tree

There is a quest that has you go to the hand areas which leads to remembrance boss in like a dream state.

Lately when I say I watched jev to xyz people are like yea I’ve seen him or know him Back in the day they were like who the f*** is that? So happy to be a part of the growth and watch this all. Thank you Jev for The years.

they did in fact add a couple new thorn sorceries, one of which is totally insane damage with the set and the new staff the boosts thorn sorceries. with blood loss it can hit for like 15k+

Fun fact: When you complete each stage of this boss, it staggers. So you can crit it, and the next phase it will start with less health

Tip: Flaming strike on a slash weapon makes light work of this boss. And vow of the indomitable for the aoe's.

just a heads up with saint trina if you die by her nectar 4 times you get secret dialogue, if you then die another two you’ll get dialogue for the 5th and 6th time, not too sure if you need an item but.

My personal idea for the lore behind Gaius's pants being found on that random mob is that they were on their honeymoon and you interrupt them

love this boss, just a very fair fight with a get just get good feel to it

Ah yes the Scadutree I noticed that it was taking extra damage to the head, and so I felt like I had to have something distract it while sniping it with ranged attacks and well... I had the Mimic Tear out and used the beast's roar ash of war out of all things to deal ranged damage. And well, it worked out for me much better than using Tiche and Lion's Claw

Your probably not gonna see this but on the left side of thr map at the temple town ruins there’s a chest in the ruins that enhances two handed weapon attacks I just found and it’s rly good for colossal swords

They did kinda expand on thorn soceries there's one that Ik of that's pretty good if you make a build around the sorcery itself its called impenetrable thorns im pretty sure I've also fought messmer and some of my other bosses with it

After I beat Messmer which took me 5 hours because of my SF level. It’s like something clicked and I haven’t been stuck on a boss since.

Jev there is also a new talisman that boost your damage when 2 handing a weapon it would go crazy with your weapon and make it hit harder

God i cant wait till you fight jagged peak final boss, npc u summon has some crazy voice acting, probably my second favorite boss whole dlc as well
