Super excited to get mine!! Been needing to tune my car for ages

This is an awesome how to on the EK1 Lite its what ive been waiting for. Now if there was only Kia Stinger OBD patches on the new site......

I'm really interested in buying this. I've been on the website and seen the files but I'd like to see some videos with dyno results on the numbers I'm seeing stated.

just wanted to share the issue I was having and the fix so that anyone else who watches this doesn't have to get frustrated like me :) I kept uploading the files and when I plugged it into the OBD port and went to writing ECU, it kept saying that the file does not exist. All I had to do was erase all the files on the SD card and create a folder called "Maps" that way, its the only thing the EK1 is seeing. After that, the patching went smoothly and I uploaded the Stage 2 tune to my VN. The thing RIPS now! Thanks SXTH.

Whats the reason you would want to read the ECU after writing the patch ?

I'm looking to buy one.

Hey I already did this process for the ECU but i want to add your TCU tune, is it the same process except for the TCU? Theres no patch files on the site

How do you datalog?

i would assume they mean put in in on mode engine off not accessory, you cant even read codes in accessory mode so idk why this video keeps calling it accessory

I bought the tune and put it onto the sd card. None of those folders appeared in the sd card so i made them manually, and the ek1 lite still cant see the tune

Same. I'm just trying to update the firmware and it won't even acknowledge the SD card. My SD card had no folders on it either. Just emailed them hopefully they get back to me.

@@dustinroberts1911 i was able to get a response, you have to create the directory, and i missed a folder. the path is supposed to be: EK1PRO or EK1LITE Inside EK1PRO or EK1LITE -> Maps, Update, Init, Logs

@@TheGennessy i would say get someone you know that knows computer stuff to sit down with you and sort out making the file directory, its going to be very difficult to explain over youtube comments lol. But if i were to try, you must create the files inside of the sd card that you put into the ek1 pro or lite. depending on the one that you have, you label the first file accordingly. Assuming you have a windows computer, to make a file you need to put the sd card into your computer, and open it in the file explorer. there should be nothing inside of the sd card when you open it, so if you find files inside already either delete them or move them somewhere else. right click in the empty space, and select new in the popup menu, then from there click new folder. then right click on the folder and select re name, then set the name to either EK1PRO or EK1LITE depending on which tuning device you bought. then double click on that folder once you've re named it, and inside you need to create 4 separate files, in this order with these names. (Maps, Update, Init, Logs). Once you have those 4 folders, all you have to do is open the maps folder, and drag and drop the tune inside of that folder. then you can put the sd card back into the ek1 device, plug it into your obd2 port, turn the car onto ignition only, and write the new tune to the car.

while trying to write the ecu with accessory on it fail on me and now my still can still go to accessory mode but wont start!. HELP!

Make sure your folder is named Maps. Not sure if thats it, but seen issues like this where they have not made a folder named "Maps". Ek1 wont read it otherwise

If you're simply using the PC to copy the file to a folder, why is a Windows PC needed?

If it sounds too good to be true most likely it is. Almost everybody has had nothing but problems with these and have left their car in a Non operational state.

@@klasseact6663 They were on the tuning site, you can always email them and ask for the numbers. Remote tuning is awesome, read and write to the ECU on the spot, go back to stock, data logging etc. Glad I went this route, no hassle with swapping Ecu's, sending it in or waiting for one to become available.

@@banhandleusernames jb4 is a piggyback tune, the EK1 reads and writes to the ECU, you can patch the ecu, log. So it's giving you the ability to write to your ECU without having to send your ECU out or having to buy a spare one. Once you write to your ECU you don't need the ek1 to stay connected unless you're going to log. You can also flash back to stock when needed. Sxth, and n75 do remote tuning, there are a couple more.
