Salt
The salt in my body
The ocean inside of me
An intoxicating tide
A current of aching
And the sea grows heavy
Every pull is abyss-bound
I know that I must leave
I know that I can
In sub-skin chasms
Surges my longing
Uproots time
Erodes my dread
Far from the shore
I glimpse faint memories
I let the heavy sea take me
I sense the tremor of the deep
The ocean swells in me
Is the salt in my tears
And the sea grows heavy
Every pull is abyss-bound
I know that I must leave
I know that I can

De acuerdo por completo. Cada lengua es mágica.
As a geophysicist and Norwegian that can certainly comprehend the lyrics when written - I wish to point out that the lyrics are damn near explaining "thermohaline circulation". Which is perhaps the most poetic pure-physic non-living global system we have on this planet. I would need at least 45 minutes to explain just how beautiful it is. That sea-water is salty, that temperature varies a lot - that density of water is depending on both and thus drives our ocean currents at peak rates of billions of tons of water per second is moving - ensuring that nutrients and oxygen is "ventilated" on our blue planet is as beautiful as the fact that we humans need a bit of salt - but can not drink sea-water - but we can drink rainwater - being amazingly distilled like the finest cognac - making water drinkable for the fine people on the Faroe Islands that are surrounded by salt-water at a latitude where ocean-current heat-exchange makes their land beautifully green instead of being a permanent ice-cube. The reason is that salt indeed makes water grow heavy. And the biggest waterfalls on the planet happens north of the Faroe Islands, in the Nordic Seas. Where all this salty and warm water from the tropics drops into the abyss with volumes that makes all the freshwater rivers on the planet combined look like a literal drop in the sea. When you look at the "subsurface" ocean-rivers doing counter-current waterfall-thingies (that is a scientific term on youtube) between Shetland and Faroe Islands - yeah - Salt. And rain. And massive amounts of energy.

Listen to “Khunling “ a thing I’ve unwittingly done all my life. Calling. Calling. She had me rivited the moment I heard her 4 yrs ago
This is cosmic.
surging through my body, the ocean in me. crashing waves of memory, currents of longing. the tide is turning. the undertow takes ahold of me. i know i should go now, i know that it’s time. in canyons deep within my soul, torrents of fury. they carve away my fear, but the hurt still echoes. the tide is turning. the undertow takes ahold of me. i know i should go now, i know that it’s time. out on the horizon, a storm is brewing. i let the breakers rush over me and feel the ocean’s heart pounding. surging through my body, the ocean in me. the tide is turning. the undertow takes ahold of me. i know i can go now, i know that it’s time. the tide is turning. the undertow takes ahold of me. i know i should go now, i know that it’s time. i know i should go now.

The salt in the body Is the ocean in me Smothering waves of time A stream of pain And the ocean gets heavier Everything is pulling towards the deep I know I have to go I know that I can Deep in the crevices of my skin My desires are pouring Take hold of time Erase all fear And the ocean gets heavier Everything is pulling towards the deep I know I have to go I know that I can Far from the land I see faint memories I let the waves take me I feel the deep sea shake The ocean is in me It's the salt of my tears And the ocean gets heavier Everything is pulling towards the deep I know I have to go I know that I can
My mind is torn between wanting to hang on to every word or sinking into them and losing myself. I love your work so incredibly much.
Sounds futuristical and ancient at the same time. Maybe the salt is our ego and the ocean is the endless and timeless being?

What the blazes? Every day I learn something I’ve not ever heard. I’m of Swedish descent, but only just recently re- started life after years of battling leukemia caused by benzene. I devoted the last 7 years of remission studying my Svenske and music. Eivør presented at the end of the first year I was learning guitar. I’m a singer or was. Now Violin, Flute, blues harp and I bought a Cajon to keep up with Trollabundin. My teacher is a Scot familiar with Shetland and Faroe Islands. He told me it was difficult but beautiful to live there. I recently heard the Faroeans are looking for more female residents? I was considering but I’m no spring chicken, lamb, nor duck.

I just keep coming back to this. I've had this CD on repeat for a couple of months now. Sublime.
I'm totally obssesed.Perfection.Take me to the your secret garden Eivor.
lyrics to this song is so deep (like a cold ocean :) ) and music is just amazing.

Yea In island and färöarna they keep the saga alive In sweden we forgot most of that. I envy them and hope they keep the old traditions alive. The language is what all nordic folks spoke back then. same in norway sweden and denmark, we still understand eachother perfectly well but Föröarna have preserved the original language. So no wonder u think it sounds like old norse songs mate.. cus in a sense they are :D

Such drama...totally loving this!!!!♥
There's great depth to the harmony created of these vibrations. What a contrast there is here in the woman's beautiful and strong voice yet seemingly sorrowful and quasi nihilistic words as well as the slightly harrowing and kind of ominous bass and drums against the sharper sounds and that wonderfully higher pitched voice.
Wow um... I just heard this at work today and feel homesick now... thank you for your art and voice and all your work. It makes us get thru the day.... and I mean that....

Longe da terra Eu vagamente me lembro do cinza, Eu deixei as ondas me levarem, Eu sinto o mar profundo tremer.
