EHG - 19th Century Mormons in Austin

Today's recording from presenter Scott McCullough focused on the Mormons who came to Austin starting in 1846, settling at the base of Mount Bonnell, and their contributions, many of which are still in effect today. Mr. McCullough will discussed what brought them here, their influences in Austin and in several communities throughout the Hill Country, and what eventually happened to the colony.
Scott McCullough was born and raised in Austin. He moved to Westlake in 1971, graduated from Westlake High School in 1977, and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated in 1984. He served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, and Honduras. Scott now owns his own business, SMAC Marketing, which serves both local and international clients.
