this region and specifically the volcanoes are very current, naples is just miles from mt. vesuvius , but more importantly to the east of naples is the supervolcano named "campi flegrei" and it is active and rumbling , very much , land rise , it is crazy there is a city and suburbs of 3 million setting on top of this monster, look it up
