Egypt Airport Maltreats Nigerians | This is HOW THEY SET NIGERIANS UP 😡
A Nigerian was allegedly accused of s*xual assault during transit at Cairo International Airport. This is absolutely sickening…Its crazy the terms to which people will go to frame someone.
If indeed he did commit such atrocity, why did they let him go? It doesn’t make sense at all My people be careful when transiting these airports sha….

This is the cop out language and attitude that I can't stand. Despite the grand and gallant actions of this man's 26 other fellow travelers(all Nigerians) which was what earned him his freedom. kofoblue has to write this craaaapppppp! Nigeria , whether by commission or omission has probably been one of the freeest countries to live in! It is now that in their attempt to build a better society, that Nigerians are grumbling about the government being harsh! Decades of doing the wrong thing has crystallised some of our bad habits into a second nature! Otherwise Nobody goes to jail in Nigeria for not paying taxes!! Try that in other countries and see! There is no forced conscription into the armed forces in Nigeria! And even with the NYSC program, Nigerians have almost always been able to wangle their ways to go and serve where they wish! People have almost always been able to beg or bribe their way through obstacles that won't happen in other countries! Successive Nigerian governments had paid petrol subsidies for Nigerians for the better part of 60 years, but the government is still bad! As we speak, the Nigerian Labour Congress is in talks with the government over minimum wage disputes! The NLC have a history of campaigning for workers rights in Nigeria but they have been well considered during this spell of democracy in Nigeria! No one is shooting them or conducting mass arrests as would be the case in most countries Nigerian governments have allowed numerous public holidays in Nigeria for occasions that would never be allowed in other countries, yet Nigeria is still bad ! Infrastructure is on the up, particularly on roads , highways and railways, in fact culminating in the revived Abuja metro! Which the current president has declared free till the end of the year! Nigeria's core foreign policy over the last 50 years had been dedicated to the freedom of other African countries over the decades! It is so sad to see Nigerians demarket their own country! kofoblue and his ilk need to know that it is such a thought process and attitude that empowers foreign countries to treat Nigerians badly. It's like handing someone a whip and they use the very same whip to flog you! Which is why the actions of Israel Kristilere's fellow Nigerian pilgrims and travellers is so commendable! Naija no dey carry last !! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!!!

Now I see why some innocent Nigerians are in jail in other countries e.g. Ethiopia over such accusations. I have reason to believe that some Nigerians travelling on a Nigerian passport are often harrassed while travelling abroad. I think it is time to start looking at getting dual citizenship but I'm not sure if this will help significantly because they may look at your name and see it is Nigerian....I don't know but such treatment is maddening and needs to stop!

I had a similar experience at the Egypt Airport in Cairo. I used Egypt Air to Jordan and had to transit Cairo. On arrival in Cairo, we learnt that our connection to Amman was postponed by 24 hours. This implied that Egypt Air was expected to provide accommodation for us during the delay, but they weren't willing to. We thus vehemently insisted on our entitlements, which they later aceeded to. For being at the forefront on the insistence, I was then targeted for carrying a blue (official) Nigerian passport and not a green (ordinary) one, by the Egyptian Police/Immigration officials. Thus, I was detained in a cubicle within the airport and denied the accommodation in town. They insisted that I would not be allowed to leave the airport as I was a flight risk!!! With a blue passport?!? .... to Cairo?!? Na wa o. The cubicle was locked and had a bad toilet which leaked thought the night. I had a horrible experience and will NEVER fly Egypt Air or visit Egypt again.

I used AIr Egypt in 1996 to travel from Lagos to London. I had a great experience and thoroughly enjoyed my flight. We got to Cairo in the evening and were taken through immigrations into the city and lodged at Marriot Hotel for the night. I had a great dinner and breakfast experience. Early in the morning we all went on a tour of the pyramids before driving down to the airport for our flight to London. I have a British Passport and travelled economy. Other passengers with American or European passports got the same treatment as I did. Can't remember about other passengers with African passports. However, those who had Nigerian Passports were lodged in the airport and not allowed to leave the airport. The bad treatment given to travellers with Nigerian passport hasn't just started. It has been going on for so long!!! The authorities and our Governments have just not done enough to combat this treatment and the situation for passengers with Nigerian passports is just getting worst.

They got an MP from their parliament in the UK to send an email within 3 hours. They missed their flight but got home safely.

As far back as 1999, when there was no internet to expose them….I had a bad experience ce in Cairo. I had a stop over and because I did not want to stay 48 hours at the airport, I took the trouble to obtain a visa before I left my base. When I got to Cairo, I was questioned like a criminal and was told I would not be allowed into the country…. Why? No tangible reason…. Luckily, my institute is very well known in Cairo as we run good schools…and they were waiting to pick me…. So I demanded that I wanted to speak to an immigration police and gave the address of my host…. When they saw that I knew my right, I was allowed i and I was even helped with a vip treatment. My conclusion is that, we shout about corruption in Nigeria, but I know countries like Egypt are far worse, especially to us Nigerians and perhaps religion also places a role in this harassment 😢I vowed never to travel Egypt Air again, even if it was free….😊

Yes. They were detained at the airport because their passports had been confiscated. Eventually, they had to settle those rogue officials before they could be freed. They provided a Nigerian bank account that received the payment and that was why I stated earlier that, some of our people are in cahoots with those criminals who are hellbent to extort Nigerians.

We will have our own Airline and much more when we fight for our right to be a better country governed by competent and good leaders not the present criminal cabals we have ruling Nigeria. Why are we surprised about how we are treated when we travel, ? If and when Nigeria is as rich as it is realized it's true potential and fix it's problems, we will be better than Dubai, better than most if not all African countries, and even better than most European countries, we have everything they want but yet we are begging it's time for us to wake up and fight for our country to be what it's supposed to be until we do that, nothing will change and we will keep getting treated like animals, wherever we go, we have the most talented and brilliant people in Africa and the world that can turn Nigeria into the paradise that it was meant to be and the true giant of Africa, not just in name but also in deed, the envy of the world and the hope of the black race, but we must be willing to fight for it freedom is not free it requires true sacrifice only then will we be respected even if they don't like us they will respect us, whether they like it or not. The ball is in our court. Heaven helps those who help themselves.

I'm not adding this comment to shame Nigeria not at all but Nigerians are not doing anything to improve their image internationally, it's disturbing, it's bad so many countries have banned Nigerians for visits and if not banned, you are asked to provide a police report and other information from Nigeria. Just before he became a minister in your present government, the honorable minister Dr Bosun Tijani a business man before being appointed as minister, he applied for a Chinese visa, after all his business documents he was asked to bring back a police report, you could feel the shock in his voice as he narrates the situation. Just to mentioned a few countries where Nigerians will not be allowed entry, Ethiopia, Dubai, Malaysia Singapore South Africa, some Caribbean countries and many more. Just because of Nigerians track record. Now Ghanaians have stopped renting houses to Nigerians, is not easy for a Nigerian to rent apartments in Ghana now, please Nigerians do something for all the horrible things you are doing in Ghana. Still watching.
