    Great video. I swapped over to Milwaukee a few months ago but they still don’t have a bloody mower. So I brought a 21” SP ego mower with the 530 blower. The combo came with the 7.5ah battery and it’s a bloody tank! I’ve upgraded to the 580 blower as the 530 had some features I didn’t like. I would definitely love to see more Ego related videos 🤩

    Thank you for the demo and show. What is the major difference between 2.5 ah and 5.0 ah? How long will each last on ST1521? For residential lawn care, shall I buy a trimmer with 2.5 ah or 5.0 ah battery with the price difference around $50? Thanks lot!

    These batteries last 2-3 years after that they fail and new one is $150 for 2.5A or $350 for 7.5A. Either way these are about $50 less then just buying entire new tool with a battery and charger. EGO is not saving the environment by price gouging their customers on the battery and charger. I have returned my EGO trimmer to home depot and sold my line trimmer went back to gas tools.

    Hey! I want to see Ego in action! I purchased an Ego chainsaw very recently. I almost prefer this chainsaw to gas powered. ALMOST! Only trouble I encountered is with the bar oiling. It would get so much debris packed in there after only a few minutes. I was spending more time with my saw apart then I was using it. Needless to say I got a different (brand) bar. Problem solved. Final conclusion: I'm convinced. Ego rocks, I'm prepared to invest! I want all of Ego's equipment. 1 of each, please. I am curious if others have had the same issue with Ego's bar. I enjoy your enthusiasm, my friend. Happy New Year!

    If you're going to be reducing the battery charge to 85%, you may as well just charge to 85% and not put the extra load on the battery to charge and then drain it.

  • @Jaker788

    @Jaker788

    2 жыл бұрын

    You're just burning away life by discharging the battery to 85%. The battery is well managed on its own, it charges to around 4.1v to 4.15v, as opposed to the actual 100% charge of 4.2v per cell. It's already doing what's needed to preserve the battery lifespan. Not only that, but a resting battery that sits for over a month will discharge to 30% for storage, just make sure you keep your batteries in use if they're not actually going into seasonal storage or you're wasting battery life.

    Be curious about the fan no more! There are two fans in the charger, One at the bottom, one on the left side. The one on the bottom PULLS air through the battery vents, and exhausts that air out of the back, rather than pushing air into the battery like Makita does. The fan on the left, Just behind the massive green vent on the charger, is responsible for cooling the charger itself.

    Possibly, but there's is a fan that draws air through the battery. There's also research that shows controlled higher temp fast charging is actually better than room temperature, and Tesla for example gets the battery up to above 100F for supercharging and won't hit full output until that's reached.

    I had a very good experience at first. Before the batteries failed in less than 3 years. But the warranty replacement batteries lasted less than a year. I had 2 since I purchased 2 tools and the batteries failed at about the same time. One of the replacement batteries lasted less than 8 months, the other lasted about 10 months. Just enough time to get past the warranty period. New batteries are over $150 each. I could buy new tools cheaper. Probably gas tools this time because they are clearly better for the environment since they last longer and don't require toxic Lithium to be mined with fossil fuels and then left in a landfill. It is my opinion that these tools are both a poor choice for performance and longevity but also a poor choice for "going green". I would strongly advice someone to avoid these products.
