I have been a fan of Ego since they hit the market! I have the mower, string trimmer, blower, edger, hedge trimmer, and now the snow blower. Their products are amazing and backed by an insanely good warranty. The loss of power compared to gas is negligible. I also hear that they are now getting ready to release an electric ride on mower! Buy these products with confidence people, they really perform as well as their gas counterparts.

Just got one yesterday and put it through the ringer: we had very wet, heavy snow that my gas powered thrower would have handled. The Ego did a terrific job tossing the wet snow much farther than my Toro ever did. I also have the Ego chainsaw and it has great power as well. I was also able to charge the second battery of the snowblower with the chainsaw’s charger.

I just bought the steel auger version and wow its fantastic !!! I have their other Ego products as well and just like them its topnotch. Their build quality, warranty, and performance are hard to beat. Their reviews speak for themselves. Like he said in this video, its hard to believe that its not gas powered. Way more convenient and takes up less space. Just pop the batteries and its ready to go just like their other products. I don't miss the headaches of gas powered equipment

A plus: It's quiet! I can move the snow before the sun comes up and the neighbors won't have cause to complain (especially when I do THEIR side walks as well). Also I can use the blower's 7.5 batteries on by EGO power "generator"...and maybe my 2.5 EGO leaf blowers? The only problem with your video: I felt like I had the chills..like I'm standing right there next to you...feeling the same cold as you are. It's now December 2019...and I'll be out and getting REAL chills very soon. I've been shoveling the last two years and the main problem I have is not being able to move the snow far enough off the drive way to keep it from eventually piling up there (after several high snow falls). The distance this blower can throw snow will end THAT problem.

This is a fantastic review, thanks so much. I live in the northeast and have been considering buying one but wanted to see it in action. Question: Other than a longer battery life, does the 7.5 battery offer better performance? I've been trying to decide whether it's worth springing for the more powerful battery. Thanks again for the fantastic review.

Dan Sonners You will just get longer run times. I am contemplating getting this with the 7.5 AH batteries to do my driveway and alley behind my house. I have a big two stage unit for heavier snows, but I like the idea of a small maintenance free unit for snowfalls like this.

A clear problem i see with this, is that the vehicle is so light that it wont "hold its lane" while pushing it. But looks like it would handle 10" of snow pretty easily, as the person walking is moving pretty fast.

Nice video boss, Tool box buz buzz did a rview not to long ago to and he very mutch like it. He had a couple isues and one that could be important at one point. To have bigger wheels and treded wheels. I would also like to see metal spike infront of the blower to help with the plow bank. I think it would help because if you go into a plow bank and its compacted and about 10-12 inches when plowed, it's just going to stall in the bank. Maybe?

I have one. Yes it’s good for snow that is less than 6-7 inches. Otherwise, it doesn’t have enough power to throw more than 7 inches. You have to constantly pull and push through the snow for more than 7 inches. It’s very annoying. Lucky I still have my 2 stages gas blower.

Just bought this havent opened it yet. Curious as to how this thing works in wet packed snow like I get here in the chicago area. Powdery snow is easy for most throwers but the packed wet stuff is my main concern with this model, also the battery life I have an average suburban residence so not very big 2 car wide driveway 4 car long plus a sidewalk...I figured even with battery power it would last for that amount.

The reviews I've read seem to indicate this blower can handle the wet, slushy, stuff pretty well. I just bought one so I can't speak from experience. I try to keep up with the snow fall, as much as possible, so it never gets too high but if it does and becomes wet I'll probably handle it with small bights and have the tool they sell, handy, to clean it out from time to time.

I have the Ego mower and weed whacker and LOVE them. I bought them for the reasons you outlined. I am a woman and don’t want to deal with gas, oil, winterizing, and pushing a heavy mower. I’m definitely going to get the snow blower next. Is it possible to control the distance the snow is thrown? I don’t want to put snow on my neighbour’s property. Thanks

If you own other ego tools it makes it a lot easier. Do NOT store or charge these in the garage. Heat and cold affect charge times and degrade the batteries faster. I store and charge these in my basement at a desk I have my various chargers setting on.

I love the idea of a battery powered snowblower....I have an Ego leafblower which is great but battery life kind of sucks, ten minutes or so and I'm needing to recharge. Knowing how hard my gas powered snowblower works clearing snow, I fear I'd be recharging every ten minutes.

Dan you must have the 530 leaf blower. I bought that one as well and returned it for that reason, 10 mins sucked. I exchanged it for the 580. What a difference, night and day. First thing I notice is there is no delay in the start. Comes with attachments, but best of all I get just about 30 mins on Turbo. Huge difference, plus it blows more. I know it's too late for you to exchange yours but I would be confident that if this blower comes with 2x5 Ah batteries that you would have at least a solid 30 mins on full power with both those batteries together and that would also take care of your leaf blower time. I know if I switch my gas blower over to electric, it will be this one. Good luck!
