Ya it’s like WTF are these doctors doing? Maybe eggs are bad. But most Americans suffer from being LAZY AND NOT EXERCISING MORE THEN FROM EATING EGGS. When the damn tv keeps saying if it’s Covid I get paxlovid or the government and DOCTORS KEEP PUSHING VACCINES RATHER THEN NOT BE OBESE MOST DOCTORS DONT CARE ABOUT HEALTH. They love treating symptoms but not underlying problems. It’s like shouldn’t doctors and the government be more concerned about a huge portion of Americans suffer from obesity and other factors that make the rona more serious. It’s like if people exercised and cooked meals at home rather then buying processed food they’d be healthier and save money and reduce taxes going to the government. Big pharma and doctors rather treat symptoms then actually make people healthier overall.

Blaming cholesterol is like blaming the fireman for the fire. It's the sugar and seed oils causing the inflamation in our veins and arteries and cholesterol comes along to try and fix the damage. 75% of the Cholesterol in your body is made by your body. Eggs can be part of a healthy diet. As always you can have to much of anything. I eat on average of 3 eggs a day, my cholesterol and triglycerides are at normal levels.

Total rubbish!!! We've had this idea about cholesterol for a very long time and we always think of it as "bad". We've trained to think of those as "bad" but let's look at it...... So we eat on average 300 mgs of cholesterol in our diet, BUT the body manufactures a whole lot more than that, because we don't eat enough!!!! So the liver has to make it and has to go through a 37 step process and it's very-very complex, and a lot of work goes into making cholesterol. Why would the body make more cholesterol if you cut down on cholesterol? The body is not stupid and every thing the body does is on purpose. The body considers cholesterol as precious as part of the bile so that the liver helps you digest fat and then get it out of in the bowel along with the stuff you're supposed to eliminate. Cholesterol is so precious that the small intestine reabsorbs 50% of that which was eliminated so that you don't have to go through all that 37 process of making more. The brain is 75% fat, and 25% cholesterol which is crucial for the functioning of the brain Cholesterol is also a precursor for hormones and cell repair The body make MOST of it, the more you eat, the less the body has to make. The LESS you eat, the more the body has to make. Did you know, that *VEGANS* can have high cholesterol? So this idea that dietary cholesterol leads to high blood cholesterol is absolute BS. It has NO impact on blood cholesterol what-so-ever. Does the body make good or bad cholesterol? It makes appropriate cholesterol for it's needs and it makes the right kind for what it needs to do. What they found in some studies back in the 50s, 60s and 70s when they started this association between cholesterol and heart disease that they found that some people with increased LDL had also cardiovascular disease. So they concluded that cholesterol was the cause of the cardiovascular disease. But there was NO causative relationship ever established. It was just an association, an *Observation* like saying "This is high, and this is high.. but we don't know why". However, one was magically claimed to be the cause of the other... Since that day we have been afraid of cholesterol ever since, despite the fact that it's an important nutrient that we have to have. *The TRUE cause of high cholesterol is INFLAMATION!* Inflammation causes damage, and damage needs to be repaired and so the body UP regulates the amount of LDL cholesterol so that we can deliver/transport LDL to the site to be repaired. The More damage the more LDL cholesterol is needed... AND it will make the exact, right type. What creates inflammation that would cause an increase in LDL? It's sugar and grains that create high lipids (triglycerides). Cut out sugar and grains and that will cause a huge lowering in triglycerides.... *We have to think differently* it's Not the cholesterol that we eat that becomes the cholesterol in our bodies. So it's absolutely nothing to do with eating eggs or red meat

PERHAPS, EGGS ARE GOOD FOR SOME OF US SUCH AS MYSELF! My grandparents, passed when they were almost 100, my parents when they were 92 and 87, and my uncles were in their 90's but I can't remembered their EXACT ages when they passed; they all ate eggs ALMOST EVERY DAY at breakfast! I've been consuming eggs since I was a toddler and just last week I celebrated my 68th birthday and everyone who've guessed my age said between 45 to 52! This is proof that certain foods are good for some of us and doesn't affect us in the same way!

I’d love see the details of the eggs go up study. I had an MI 10 years ago, had LDL in the 120-130 range and total serum number at about 210. I fooled around with diets and exercise. The diet I use consists of protein (3 or 4 eggs every day) and green vegetables, water, black coffee and unsweetened tea. I eventually dropped my statin drug and my numbers have consistently (for 9 of the 10 years post-MI) are 48 LDL and 98 total cholesterol. I know one man’s experience does not make a study but what can I tell you. Looks like driving out sugars (in carbs and otherwise) made my cholesterol, especially LDL, plummet.

In 2014, I ate 12 eggs per day for an entire year and they were the most expensive organic yard eggs available. Why? To build my body with the 'finest quality' protein. Nothing good happened; instead, I woke up one Sunday morning with a heart rate of 400 BPM! They said I had Tachycardia and I spent the next several days and weeks in 4 hospitals! My local GP has known me for 30+ years and told me the only way to return to 'normal' is to become a Vegan. One surgeon tried to ablate, but he said "I went a thousand places inside your heart (while I was awake) and I found nothing to ablate!" I still had the symptoms and he said "You may have a clogged coronary artery which I don't work on." Long story short, I became a staunch vegan. It's now been almost 8 years and I will never go back! I feel and breathe better than I did at 16 (now I'm 71). I still walk, work hard all day, sleep from 9 to 4 and am full of energy. Do your family and yourself a huge favor and be a vegan. My Tachycardia is totally gone. I even have better color in my skin.

I’ve found a way to cook an egg so that you’re protected from every drop of fat AND saturated fat contained in that egg: Take the egg and crack it over a pan on very high heat Let the egg sizzle for three minutes. This is very important. Only three minutes - don’t touch it before the three minute mark. Use a timer, maybe. Then flip the egg. Do it quickly. After the egg has been flipped, turn down the heat to low. Let the egg sizzle for two minutes. Set another timer. Use your spatula and scoop up the egg. Before you drop it on your plate to enjoy, drop that piece of crap right in the trash. Put some trash on top of it so it stays there. Boom. Protected 🤗

Age, weight, gender, blood pressure, family history, stress and life situation, activity levels, metabolic health (e.g., diabetes/ insulin sensitivity) smoking, and diet are just some of the others. But high LDL/cholesterol can relatively easily be treated. How effective are statins as a first line defense? That's a whole other question, but the answer is, pretty effective.

BUN was also lower than normal at 8. You don't have to eat cholesterol at all. Our body is designed to produce that in high amounts. The point is that it should not stay too long and in too high concentrations in your blood. The problem can be in the input and the output side. Output side is LDL receptors, the number of which is mostly genetically determined. The input is the liver production and the intake with food. If you have a blood cholesterol issue, you need to reduce anything you can. That's eating less mostly. But eat fiber to eliminate cholesterol from the intestines so it can't be reuptaken.

I have been plant based for 3 years and even though I take B12 and D3 every day, I still feel tired all the time. So I've decided to put eggs in my diet and I feel better. I think you should listen to your body. If you feel good, that's the right diet for you.

For those suffering with CVD/HBP, egg yolks should be avoided. For me who no such malady, I egg egg yolks for the choline, proteins and other nutrients - and I also exercise at 69 years old. Cholesterol in eggs is bad for those with cardiovascular illness who do not exercise period. Dr. Barnard has always been against the MDs who prohibit lectin and egg yolks - they of course recommend exercise.

As I told my doctor, egg yolks contain a substance that helps prevent macular degeneration, which my father had, and which I have the beginnings of. How much of the cholesterol in an egg gets into your system? Not much, according to some studies. I hard-boil my eggs and have them as part of a balanced breakfast, so no degraded frying oils involved. For a little bit extra money, you can get eggs from chickens that have been fed algae or flax seeds, thus increasing the Omega-3 fatty acids in your diet.

Thank you for your informative show, As Always💗 But I always keep my worries in my mind cause we all experienced years when they have changed their minds ( FDA etc) & advised the opposite. So we 60 plus have not much time to be a genie pig so I will keep on eating my eggs three in a week although I have blocked neck arteries 20% I feel life is boring without some white meat and feta cheese & Parmigiano cheese.& eggs Does a 100% plant base diet affect Renal patients, I like to hear from you if they are safe with all that plant base diet "chemical stuff" in Soya food, etc. When I was young tne Doctors used to say Soya food used to cause breast cancer. Cashew Oil cheese couldn't find yet if anyone has a brand name to advise will appreciate it. Every 15 years they ban eggs & animal products then they make them innocent. Love Dr. Barnard find him honest. Thank Chuck🙏 love your honesty as well. You give that impression to us. Thanks with all my heart. Also need help with bone density for ladies over 60+ if we stop eating dairy. And they say too much Almond milk etc cooper in it like in Aluminum pans can make you Dementia or Alzheimer. Some Vitamin companies took them away from their one-a-day tablets. I think Dr. Bsrnard gave this info last year. And are we lectin free by Cooking nightshade vegetables? Or not soaking lentils & beans for 2 days in water. Change the water every 3 hours to get rid of lectins which cause artrihidis🤒 Thank you God Bless you not only for cholesterol but for natural Planet Earth disasters for"Earthquakes 😓"

Vs a previous diet I was Eating a lot of plant protein which totally wreked my digestive system and, I was ALWAYS hungry and felt tired. This is true. I was on a statin and still had a heart attack. Statins were designed to reduce cholesterol which they do nicely. But cholesterol is not the problem. Coronary inflammation from excessive carb consumption and seed oils over time is what contributes to atherosclerosis. When a blood vessel is inflamed then damaged, cholesterol is the binding agent sent to the site of the damage to help repair the damage. It's sort of like the spackle used to repair damage to to a plaster wall. Statins are totally useless and actually harmful as far as I can see. You might want to check out Ivor Cummins on YT.
