I'm not sure why but Unleashed and Black Knight generally had a kind of "finale" feel to them. They almost definitely weren't planning to end the series but given they were the last mainline game of the 2000s and the last game altogether of the 2000s it makes you wonder

I love how absolutely giddy he sounds having finally won

That's pretty cool. Too bad Dragoon's weak spot is available to you 98% of the time so it's hard to casually make it past the 2nd platform.

Especially for a final boss fight but Dark Gaia is more challenging than the Egg Dragoon and it’s the second final boss

@@lucky_dog1228the egg dragoon is meant to be a breather after eggmanland, and before dark Gaia, but I still think both fights are a bit TOO easy. You’ll drain 3/4 of his health here in QTES, and the unwiished dragoon just doesn’t do crap

For a 2008 game, it’s got cinematic looking graphics.

I mean 2008 had some good looking video games that still look good today. The cartoony look this game had also adds to it. Kinda sad new Sonic games now don't look as good as Unleashed did

@@utrarafat For real. Sonic day stages are just so much fun to replay than the stages in Generations. Sonic's movement felt looser and better to control too and there was less 2D in Unleashed

It’s a cool detail but they should’ve given egg dragoon three phases instead of two, since you only need the third to beat him.

Kinda jarring how they gave this fight a time limit to how many platforms you can stand on, but with how easy it is to not reach the limit, there's no way anyone would be able to notice it without doing it in purpose. I just wanted to hear the extra bit of dialogue that you wouldn't be able to hear for the most part. 😅

Now people may wonder why they made it take so long for this to occur but they also forget, you're falling from the surface to the Earth's core no wonder it takes so long especially with all the platforms

I guess so. It reminds me of the boss fights in the 3D vertical-scrolling-shooter game Hyperspace Invader by URSE Games and Alawar Entertainment (here's my walkthrough of the game: kzread.info/head/PLdccrhR-yjF5hCpMvkJjPnik9LuxmJL_I) where bosses will charge their super weapon that will instantly kill you and take all your lives and end the game when fully charged and if boss fight takes too long to finish.

I feel if this game was a movie they would go down until the last one and then that is when sonic would defeat him

I really wish they had made an extra cutscene or something to really tie the whole scene together. Even if they’d made a slightly different death animation that would have made it so much better. I tried this myself before watching this video to see how far I could go down, and I got the extra line, then the classic death animation. Kinda lame. But still cool to discover

He fell into magma, but right before he did, he became Super Werehog and almost killed Eggman, but Dark Gaea drained Super Werehog of his powers, reverting him back to Super Sonic.

Tbh I never knew that could happen since the Egg Dragoon is not that hard as the first final boss like you can beat it within 3 minutes on the Xbox 360/PS3

@@megamillion5852 Yeah, everybody dies offscreen. But rather than having any special animation, the game just kills Sonic/Shadow and restarts the fight if you exceed five minutes.

It’s the equivalent of Star Fox 64 Macbeth boss if you spend almost 7 minutes fighting him and not beat him, he’ll instant kill you, even at full health. Also the Golamech boss in Venom and hit a dead end and you keep crashing until your ship explodes.

I ran into that once, it was very annoying.

Try showing all the quicktime event fails.

There is only like, 5 platforms or somthing... They could have done somthing more than just repeating "heres one for the road sonic" 4 times

Unrealistic, Sonic wouldn't spend 10min fighting a boss, Eggman of all people 😂, He wouldn't fall anywhere either with those long ass arms. Probably use it to climb Dragoon and kick it's ass. Chip also wouldn't sit there, he would actually form the gaia temple and use the 7 chaos Emeralds earlier to help Sonic which is still again, Unrealistic. If anything Sonic would kill himself after 10 minutes in a boss fight. 😂
