Time for a change of pace!

Actually I think there’s a real (plot wise) reason why the Egg Dragoon is far weaker than its previous incarnations,In Sonic Unleashed Egg man states that he built the Egg Dragoon thanks to Dark Gias power so that’s how the Egg Dragoon was really powerful same in Generations but now In Sonic Forces Egg Man no longer has Dark Gias power so when he tried to Fix or remake the Egg Dragoon a lot of its previous ability’s were lost since now Egg Man doesn’t have Dark Gias power to boot,so that’s how from a story telling stand point how the Egg Dragoon was much weaker and easier then the previous Incarnations.

For what it was worth, this boss was pretty disappointing. Sonic Team should've made this boss tougher, with more interaction and attacks than just rock throwing, drills and the gatling gun. They should've also placed this boss much later in the game, around the alley of the Eggman Empire Fortress set of levels.

It would be interesting if it were the final boss of the game, but I think this would be better as a penultimate boss, like in Unleashed. Also yeah, if the Egg Dragoon had Phantom Ruby enhancements, it would be interesting to see how it would play out.

Hallos i would wanna see this Boss as part of like a gauntlet of iconic Eggman robots in one fight. Maybe add in the Egg Robo, Nega Wisp Armor, and the Egg Emperor and have you just beating one after the other in one stage.

y'know Eggman, ya might wanna invest in some robots that can't be damaged by hedgehog quills. also, Tails, wadaya mean "we"? I didn't see you do shit.

To be fair, if Sonic can spin that fast, he's basically a living SAW! Not exactly easy to make robots resistant to that... Though Eggman sure behaved stupid in this particular fight. And a number of others, but that's a different issue.

Probably because a simple wrecking ball would not kill Classic Sonic if it hit him (unless Eggman crushed Classic Sonic with it), and also because the ball has to go through the two semi-solid platforms.

Well, there were plenty of returning bosses in Generations. Any one of those bosses brought to Sonic Forces would've had three appearances as well so... Either that or maybe a boss that didn't return in Generations like the Egg Wyvern from 06 or something. I like that one.

Yeah, the fight is pathetically easy, but let’s all appreciate that he goes from the first/easiest boss battle of the series to the FUCKING EGG DRAGOON

Eggman: The anticipation of the end is worse than the end itself. Same with the game except better instead

I love how how panicked he gets upon seeing Classic Sonic, and that he even yelps when Classic Sonic gives the Eggmobile a whack

OK, just for context I did not see any of the trailers going into Sonic Forces. So this fight was actually pretty cool to me the first time I played it. It starts with a clear homage to Sonic 1 but then quickly swaps to a more impressive machine

Just noticed that probably the reason the Egg Dragoon was defeated so easily was because Classic Sonic threw rocks directly at the Cockpit, and since it doesn't seem like that it isn't protected by the barrier this time around it probably did more damage, *also because it shouldn't have Dark Gaia energy anymore and he was a frickin god of darkness. Gonna be hard finding a replacement for that, also I didn't forget about it might being powered by the Phantom Ruby, since the wings are red this time around, but I highly doubt that this dimension's Artificially created Ruby would be as powerful as a literal god's life essence.* Edit: Just noticed there was another comment like this, too lazy to delete this one.

To be honest, I really liked the Theme of this fight, and to trick the players into thinking that it was just a re-imagined boss from the past. The Boss was easy but it was still an amazing fight.

The only part of Sonic Forces that I actully like XD

Instead of making a remix of egg dragoon theme they do things like use old music that doesn't fit bosses

Just in case eggman was talking about the phantom ruby, but that dialogue was unused and didn't make it to the final game Eggman: so the phantom ruby created a breach in the dimensional rift?

Sonic unleashed: a great reward for beating eggman land you get to unleash your high stats on this Machine with quick time events that are actually good! And at the end sonic is just done with eggman and throws him a billion feet out of his sight and while all of this is happening you are falling down into the center of earth! 10/10 Sonic Generations: A chase with eggman this battle takes advantage of ALMOST all of your skills. It is a bit harder than the original. But sadly the fight drags on for a little 6.5/10 Sonic forces: you hit rocks 0/10

Music is so beautiful

This fight shouldn't have been easy, especially since the Egg Dragoon is one of Eggman's strongest mechs. Yeah it's weaker because it doesn't have Dark Gaia energy but it at least it made Eggman look menacing in Unleashed

Funnily enough i think this is one of the most engaging fights in the game, easy to beat but getting a good timing to beat him faster can be tricky and it's fun getting a good time

The Egg Dragoon gets easier and easier each game. Is it losing its power from Dark Gaia's dark energy? Or does he use something else to power it. If so, it's not working. And it does feel that this boss is a bit overused now. It's an awesome boss fight, but it gets worse each time. Nothing can top the sheer spectacle the was Unleashed and everything about it. The fight had massive stakes, it was more close up and personal and it was a good boss fight with the Werehog. I liked how you would take off the two power cores that kept his force fields up and expose the cockpit allowing Sonic to punch the Egg Mobile out and yeet it into sparkle effect. That's how you know it was a good boss. Generations didn't feel as good or epic amd was a bit too easy. Same with Forces. A few boulders took ot down. Let that sink in. It used to take a bunch of powerful punches from the Werehog's bare hands to defeat him, now a few rocks can take it down.

This boss might be my favourite gag in the franchise. Seeing classic sonic going against the ridiculous over the top BS of modern Eggman is so funny

For what little it's worth, I think the reference to the first Eggman 'boss' ever was pretty cute.

Because Mania is way too separated from the main timeline. Here Sonic learns the homing attack being classic,learns the drop dash,and becomes friends with Mighty and Ray before Knuckles Chaotix. And the games change their story and cronology.

At that point when Eggman was announcing his plan they had great and when i mean great i mean GREAT OPPERTUNITY to stop eggman who was...and get this STILL reving up his Machine at the time to stop him but they just stood there and looked him dead in his eyes while he left

How many times does Sonic need to destroy Egg Mobile H for Eggman to realize it's shit? Sure, he used a sawblade instead of a giant ball this time but they still function the same in a 2D Boss
