Effects for Violin Series - Week 11 - Reverb (with Jesus Florido)

Музыка

As an amplified string player, if you use ONE effect, it's going to be reverb. Electric violins, violas, cellos, and basses absolutely need it. (So do acoustic instruments, but they usually get it from the room they're in.)
In this video, we'll talk about the different types of reverb, what the parameters are, what they do, and how you can pick the best reverb for you.
In the linked video, Jesus Florido talks about how he's used reverb in his 30+ year career around the globe.

I bought a JHS octave reverb pedal and it's a TON of fun to use.

Excellent explanation on reverb and how our ears collect and channel sound! I have a Strymon Big Sky with my Viper and I love it. It is versatile and allows you to adjust a number of parameters so you get just the right amount, quality and style of reverb. Apparently they process the violin signal really well, but I am not an expert in that area. It is an overkill pedal for what I need, but it has everything I use. Thank you again for educating us!
