Effective shop storage and organization on a budget
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is a quick run through of the Unitedstatesofbuild shop organization techniques and different storage bins. This shop wears many different hats and needs a wide array of supplies. It can be hard to effectively store so many things. Watch to see how its done here:

Great ideas that you've implemented. I really think my production efficiency would go up significantly with an organized setup like yours. Thanks.

Just stumbled on your video. Thanks for the ideas. The storage shelfs for your gray bins, is that 3/4” plywood? Does the plywood sag in the middle over time? How wide are the side support for your gray bin storage? Thanks again for the video and ideas!
Nice thanks for the tips.

Thanks for watching!!
Awesome
Very nice organization. I get the Durham MFG metal organizers for small stuff. And I make shelf’s to fit the cardboard fold together bins. I buy them from McMaster Carr.
I built similar shelves to hold small parts bins in my shop then I went one step further to catalog everything. I numbered each shelf and each space on the shelf and listed each part in a rolodex. If I need number 8x1-1/2" wood screws I can look in the rolodex under wood screws, #8 x 1-1/2 and it tells me they are on shelf B, slot 12.
Awesome set up and video run through thanks alot man I'll be implementing some of your techniques and definitely be using the products your recommending.. PS- Do you have a box for sock hats lol jk

Hot damn good stuff. Subbed also..👍🇺🇸
I guess this is the next step in organizing my shop: sort bolts like you did. I actually sorted it in those three stupid categories: smaller (1/4' - 5/16' - 3/8) bigger (1/2 & up), longest (6'' & up)... Great tips, great job! Nice shop too!

Thanks Joe! As you can see the floor level of the bolt bins is the too-long stuff and the 10lb+ quantities that wouldnt fit in the shelving...There's always those few things that dont cooperate....
That looks great but I am curious how those shelves will hold up over that 3 or 4 foot span if the bins are fully loaded with heavy screws/bolts/nuts/washers. I'm thinking a vertical support of some sort midway across might be helpful to prevent sagging over the years this thing will last?

Theyre nailed every 4" or so through the back side also. That takes a lot of the weight. I have a few heavily loaded and there is minimal sag. Thanks for watching!

I disagree. I simple nailer strip of 3/4" down the middle will stop the sagging we can see in the video.
Great channel ....Awesome job now I have to try and build the one with the harbor freight bins.

haha, Yep. Its a great joint, they've done a good job organizing it. It used to be a little tough to navigate. The back half is screws, nails, consignment tools etc now. How long ago did you move and from what town?

It hasnt always been this way. Every year I knock out a few organization improvements. It sure makes a big difference on productivity.
I know I am late on commenting but the sterilite bins with the plastic tops slow down corrosion. Am I correct?

Im not sure about corrosion, Ive never had much issue with it where I live. The lids do help keep the contents much cleaner and dust-free.
