EFE/Bachmann/Heljan class 58 debut…
Since the arrival of the wonderful Cavalex class 56 a steady rake of HAA’s has been growing, which has given me the perfect opportunity to purchase & run one of my personal favourite diesel locomotives.
The class 58.
What a brute, it ain’t gonna win any beauty contest that’s for sure, but for shear function they’ve always impressed me…
A super fast supply of an 8pin Loksound chip fitted with twin Megabass speakers 🔊 give this powerful loco sound to match!
The current EFE/Bachmann/Heljan offering isn’t a bad model considering it’s a few years old now, even the factory weathering isn’t too bad.
It will receive some attention including a crew to be fitted.

They’re by a company called “in the greenwood” fairly cheap, about £6 each. The only thing is the window frames are a bit out of scale….so I’ve bricked em up!!🤣

It’s a noisy bugger! Twin Megabass speakers don’t match say an “accurathrash” EM1 for depth, but it’s still pretty good 👍

@@colwichjunction3366 I’ve got biffs in one and Howes in another, can’t remember what speakers I’ve got in them but they are pretty loud 🤣

Two is better than one! I would like 58039 in RailFreight grey rather than EWS…it was called Rugeley Power Station which was by local station until a couple of years back.

I might see if I can find a coal sector 58 at some point…I will have to do something I’ve never done before - renumber it!!🤣
