Nebraska is a great state, but there is no denying that almost the whole state sits in tornado alley.

The movie twister is a fair example of the reality of tornado season each year. Minus the amount of them in one storm. I've been through some with 3 at one time

Yeah, id save up for it if i had to. Crazy more people dont take it seriously or invest in proper insurance

This is why I usually don't see the point of new homes in tornado areas. This right here. I thank God they are ok and able to share this with us.

for sure must start building smarter. Nothing with flat walls, more dome design using concrete is great for exterior "also in fire zones."

I to am a 20 year Army veteran, I lived in Missouri for 12 years and had my share of tornado warnings, thankful to God you and your family survived, might want to consider building in a safer part of the country,remember our land navigation training location,location,location,being from California I relocated once I retired, when it comes to weather conditions always remember this world is Satan domain he is allowed to pervert the weather and cause destruction so location is very important, God bless and keep you material things can be replaced

@Foxweather It's technically Omaha. Elkhorn hasn't existed as a standalone city for years. It was annexed by Omaha on March 24, 2005, and officially became part of Omaha on March 1, 2007, after the court battles. The notion of annexation began in the late 90s.
I wonder what they charge for home insurance in tornado alley. Probably jacked up rates like everywhere else.

Tornadoes are great for creating jobs rebuilding, cutting/hauling trees, buying lots of tools, and so many profits for the few rich people. Lots of people died but keep praying for them. Whatever will be, will be. Do not build any safe Tower cities connected to maglev Trains.
Lesson learned by me. Don't build a dream (or any other) home in Tornado Alley.
