Educational & Technology video series - Part Three Cylindrical Vs Prismatic cell pack design
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Part Three - High Performance lithium batteries awesome, but how safe are they?
We take a detailed look inside at our 80Ah Extreme cylindrical battery pack design, individual cell puncture testing and safety design features. Showing how individual cells isolate themselves from the battery pack by fusing out and going open circuit. Why this mechanical design is so superior for battery longevity. Will the punctured cells cause any issues and still allow the battery pack to function but not only function but supply full power output under large loads?
Puncture testing a much larger prismatic 280Ah battery cell commonly found across eBay and Alibaba sites to show the difference in battery cell pack mechanical and safety design.

Glad you like them!
Great video as usual. What BMS (amperage) is this, which can handle 3000 w induction cooker ? Thanks

Thanking you, any of our batteries that run our 200A or larger BMS will support an induction cooker.
What real life conditions would warrant such a test? Vibrations fatiguing all the soldered joints?

Vibrations fatiguing joints and connections, BMS failure, cell grading related issues, ingress related effects mainly vapour, over temperature conditions, high pulse discharge stresses, high load conditions, electronics and cells getting stressed from constant daily 60 degree C temperature swings, debris puncturing the cell packs etc.. batteries installed inside engine bays of 4WD vehicles are the absolute worst possible environment imaginable for any battery pack, they cop an absolute punishment.
haha wtf!!
