Theory: Edna mode is the actual hero of the story. Edna stopped making suits with capes because many superheroes were dieing. So that’s why she doesn’t like capes. But one day one strange man came to her and said “please make me a suit”. But Edna felt this suspicious vibe around him, so he made a suit with a cape. And that man was syndrome. After, in the end of the movie we all see that syndrome dies because of his cape getting stuck in a jet engine just like stratigal. So if Edna didint put the cape on the suit, he would not have died and still causing chaos. So Edna is the hero of the movie

Honestly, I think boss bitch is just her default mode. Plus, I don't think Edna designed ALL those suits. She seems like the person who'd initiate a recall and redesign for all her caped suits the moment one played a part in a superhero's death. I've just figured this is why she gets upset if someone else designs supersuits. Bob's suit ripped after 15 YEARS, Elastigirl's ripped after several days. Which for a superhero is REALLY dangerous, imagine if Violet's suit failed on her mid fight.

We got the Sam Raimi Spiderman films, Iron Man, Hellboy, Watchmen, Batman Begins, and the Dark Knight. They've all aged pretty well too.

Can we just talk about how actually great of a friend Edna is Bob comes in for a suit patch, so she makes supersuits for the entire family instead, despite being obviously famous and busy. When she suspects Bob of defying Helen's trust to the point of possibly hurting the whole family, Edna clues Helen in on whats going on. And not only does she act as a shoulder for Helen to cry on when she thinks Bob is cheating, Edna also giver her a killer pep talk. What a homegirl.

I’m of the mindset that everyone needs a friend like Edna

I’ll never get over the capes scene. When you first watch it it’s funny but dark, but then when you watch it again it dawns on you that those supersuits were made by Edna and she remembers every super that died because of the capes. It’s the one time we see her genuinely serious, when she goes back to drawing but gives Bob a deadly serious look. She doesn’t just remember that they died, she remembers the EXACT dates of each of their deaths.

I remember loving this character so much, so when my sister told me about a short segment being available on Disney+ I stopped what I was doing and sat down to watch it. It did not disappoint and I have watched it several times more.

I love her so much! Her asexual complete and utter disregard for the opposite sex becuase she knows what’s she worth and who she is and that no one could handle her. The energy and preparedness she has for other women and lack of surprise when they are utterly destroyed by grief.

Incredible, this will be a 5 part series because I need my beauty rest for my genius mind, so let's start the suit with a layout on the almost indestructible material. There's a theory that says Edna designed Syndrome's suit, which was why she knew all of the protections to give the Incredible's suits, and why his suit had a cape on it.

That sounds like a very plausible theory! I'd also add my theory that while Syndrome was extremely skilled at making high tech weapons and equipment, he didn't have the innate skill to create fabric, and which is why he turned to Edna to create his suit.

Honestly, I don't think that's the case. Syndrome's tech is good enough that he could make a decent super suit. The reason it has the cape is because Syndrome is playing the hero, he wants that glory just like Bob did at the beginning of the film. Everything Syndrome does is like his cape, a level of overly dramatic flair that he didn't have to do. He could have just come on the scene as a super and managed everything that he wanted to do anyways. He went through with this whole evil plan because he wants to be the biggest hero there ever was and is willing to do some stupid, unneccessary, and/or evil things to make it happen. He went through the effort to get as many supers as possible to fight his omnidroids until only he could "beat" it with his remote because he wanted zero chance for anyone else to take the spotlight.

I love Edna, easily my favorite character. Her personality is a whole vibe!😂

A theory is that she designed syndromes suit and purposely gave him a cape

The anger and fear in her eyes at 1:59. Think about it. All of her clients were people she respected and truly loved in her own way. She made their costumes, and so to her, their deaths were her fault. She was the reason that so many people that she adored were gone. No capes.

Any supers that she didn't indirectly kill were killed by Syndrome's Omnidroid, and that's likely why she added a cape to his suit? I feel like she knew what Syndrome was doing when supers were heading to the same island and never coming back, that's why she had a tracker on Bob and sent him backup. I don't know, I feel like Edna's that smart
