Fantastic :-) ...and there are just so many that each new season brings and in each climatic zone. Considering edible plants from root to tip brings enables us to see so much more abundance in our gardens.

Oi Morag, thanks for all informations, i’m fan of You and permaculture, I’ve watched a vídeo about edible flowers, fantastic! Just for information, hibiscus flower is a toxic hepato flower. People use for losing weight, for preparing drinks, but os quiet dangerous! Jairo from 🇧🇷

WE have many bottle brush trees here and I always admire them and humingbirds in them, but now I can make a tea with them. Thank you for wonderful information.

The bottle brush flowers are just so beautiful aren't they. I've just planted a whole lot more. I've also loved sucking the nectar from grevillea flowers since I was a kid.

Yes.:) Honeysuckle flowers have delicious nectar as well, but can be invasive.

The Grevillea species here in Australia are native and not invasive. It would be useful to know you know the species name of your invasive one, and where that is...thanks!

Just subbed from Permaculture for Children on Facebook. I love growing edible flowers as well. I'll be sure to let my arugula flower. I'm adding society garlic to my wish list. Looks lovely. Nice tip on the lettuce seed as well. We have my Grandma Charlotte fuchsias hanging in baskets. I'll be sure to try a few flowers and berries. I need to research which of the tea type flowers you recommend and see if any can grow in Washington state.

Thanks for writing! All standard garden pea shoots and flowers are edible - except the sweet pea (the ornamental flower type).

Excellent info. Thank you. I am interested in finding out if you can dry all of these flowers to use later (either tea, or with dried mixed greens which we sprinkle into everything). Also, are the leaves of these plants also edible? Again to dry and sprinkle to provide nutrition in winter months. :-)

Perhaps you have covered this in another video. I looked up the pineapple sage to get seeds and found that it is a mint. If I have more than one mint planted will the seed be "mixed" variety, or make the seed unable to be saved or used to have another true pineapple sage or chocolate mint, or lemon mint, etc...? I hope my question makes sense. Thank you for your wonderful videos.

Hi. Thanks for your question. The best way to propagate pineapple sage is by stem cuttings. I do the same with mint. Cuttings from a plant are true to the original.

Can you use the seeds from the lettuce to grow more lettuce or can you only use them in a salad. Thanks

Yes, the seeds can either be collected, or allow them to naturally fall in your garden to encourage self-seeding.

Are there any of the so-called "edible flowers" that are hepatotoxic when consumed in significant quantities that people need to be aware of?
