It’s not. Undertaker at the age of 50 should not have beaten Brock lesnar who was ruthless in UFC. Undertaker losing the streak was the most realistic wrestlemania match ever till date.

If that's the case, Cena shouldn't have beat Lesnar and no one should beat Mark Henry, Big E, or Braun since they are all men with strength records. HHH made more sense. WM was Undertaker's baby. HIAC was HHH'S baby as he had an undefeated streak for a while. Story writes itself. They were the last Outlaws.

Randy orton for me personally, but when he had his match the streak was relatively new. Had the streak gone on a little longer and randy was in his legend killer phase, it would’ve been perfect.

Undertaker was nowhere near ready to retire so that would've only benefited Randy. Vince just brought back the Deadman at WM20 and he wasn't going to kill it off a year later. That's his favorite character and he hated the real Undertaker (American Badass). So Orton winning under the Legend Killer vibe does nothing of benefit long term for both guys. When you think about it the Legend Killer gimmick was dumb because no one of Legend status at the time (Harley, Slaughter, Jake long retired) was regularly wrestling. So who did Randy kill? No one.

@@demarcuskane1392 The believable part timer was HHH. Someone of that era. Just like Cena/Orton/Lesnar should've been each other's final curtain call of memorable WM opponent making moments.

Edge has always been a class act, not just from interviews with him out of character. At one point I met him and got his autograph, and he seemed like a nice guy, very personable, and made you feel comfortable talking to him. Just a guy who would ask you what you thought of the game the night before.

The streak should’ve never been ended. It just didn’t make sense to end it. It’s one of the most terrible decisions made by Vince.

Unpopular opinion: Brock or Randy is the best option to end the streak. Because both of them had history with Taker so it was a perfect long term story telling.. The person who was supposed to break the streak had to be a "Made Man" & not some 3-4 year old rookie like Reigns..

Edge could have been the guy to be like “heck ya! I’ll end it!” He could’ve been the guy talked about for generations to come. But he loves the business and probably has a level of respect for undertaker and chose not too. Adam Copeland is an amazing human being.

I saw a clip from Kurt angles podcast and he talked about his heel run. He said “my goal as a heel was I wanted to be the heel that no redeeming qualities. I didn’t want one person to cheer me. I wanted people to think I was the slimiest, desperate, nasty guy. For edge, his whole goal is he doesn’t care about nothing but the title.” He succeeded for sure!

To be honest, anyone fighting Undertaker at Wrestlemania was going to be an already made man. They weren't giving Undertaker up and coming stars to fight at the grandest stage of them all.

Exactly. The streak is what made undertaker legendary. Also from a story line perspecive, he's a "deadman" , super human being, that can't die. If it was basass undertaker, fair enough, but "deadman" losing, just makes no sense. You can't take away the aura away like that.

The streak ended because taker got a dangerous concussion during his match with brock. It was wrestlemania so they couldnt just call it a draw. Decision was made in the heat of the moment to give brock the win so taker could get back for medical care. Taker was not a young man at this time. The show still has to go on but he needed to be seen by a doc asap

Did he ever state that in an interview? Cuz Paul heyman,, and I’m not sure if he’s just playing up to kayfabe or not, told a story that when Vince told him he was gonna lose to taker, he was with heyman and told him “21 and 1”

I was a kid when Edge cashed in on Taker after Taker received a beatdown from Mark Henry right after a Steel Cage match against Batista. Man, I sulked for like one whole week. Their rivalry was something.

Yeah, the rivalry between the Rated R Superstar and The Undertaker was something else. Great storyline. As a kid, it made me absolutely despise Edge... And that's why I now put Edge up there as one my favorite wrestlers. He actually made me hate him.

The streak never should have ended

Having Undertaker lose to Brock was the one decision that made me walk away from the WWE forever, and I was a kid watching Stone Cold and the Rock with complete awe. Much like the MCU after Endgame, you start to realize there’s a certain point that you understand it’s time to move on and start enjoying other things

If anyone was to break it it should’ve finally been Shawn Michaels

This is actually the only way I think ending the streak makes sense.

Brock seems like the guy to say “hey do this for me and I’ll sign whatever deal you want.”

Edge is so knowledgeable about the business. I hope Hunter uses him in the future to bounce ideas off of.

Roman wasn’t liked the way he currently is today. He was still a member of the SHIELD if I recall or he was just rebounding from the break up. When they started pushing Roman, it never felt genuine so they force fed him to us for a while. When he took on Brock at WM, so many people were booing the match. The only cheers that happened started when the beach balls were broken out.

I’m sorry. But Shawn should’ve been the one to end it. The PERFECT ending to both careers it would’ve been. 2 back to back 5 star matches. The peak storytelling in the ring. I was just 15 yet I was mesmerised. Shawn has always been my favourite.

I think they fucked that up doing taker 21-1… I personally feel like it should have went 22-0 and then he retired… he should of never lost at Mania 😭

I think the fact the crowd had no clue meant it was a great decision. It's iconic, whether you like it or not, and WWE doesn't have many moments like that

Edge said “Yes” so damn fast. Just like most fans, ending the streak was the dumbest call by Vince. Especially letting Brock end it when he was already a household name.
