umm, sorry but this is objectively, factually WRONG. And you'd be hard pressed to find a bigger Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder fan than me. But even all of us diehard fans since the beginning can acknowledge his voice has deteriorated over the years, as will be the case with practically all vocalists. I still worship him, and know he's a fine singer, but he can't also can't hit the extremes like he used to. And that's not a thing to be avoided, pushed to the side or ignored, it's just a fact of life.

Do you ever find yourself checking, every so often, whether a particular person or people are still with us? I must confess I do for quite a few people. Not the super famous ones, obviously, they'll make news. But June Foray was one I used to look up every so often, for a couple reasons. One, she was an integral part of so many children's lives, even if they didn't know it. God knows how many characters she voiced. The other reason, if they're very old, is a kind of silly hope that they will make it to triple figures. In the case of June, she died only a few weeks before her 100th birthday. RIP to her, and all who have entertained us so wonderfully over the years.

I’ve listened to this at least 20 times since it was uploaded. Never really followed Pearl Jam for whatever reason, but I must say Eddie knows how to get a song across. So good.
That was beautiful Eddie.
this is so beautiful. what a voice.
This world needs Eddie Vedder to grow old.
We've lost so much of this generation, thank god we still have Eddie
What a beautiful tribute to Tom Petty too. He was in The Postman and also wrote a movie Soundtrack.
Wow ! Eddie is the best 💖
FANTASTIC! LOVE EDDIES VOICE!!!
he sings and i see him at the mtv unplugged in my head. his voice is so damn amazing 😭😭😭🙌🏻❤️❤️
The only segment for which I waited. To watch Eddie pay his tributes especially from one legend to another - Chris Cornell. RIP
Eddie makes everything better 💜
I could listen to Eddie Bedder all day everyday. There isn't anything he doesn't make make. The emotion in this performance is heartfelt .....
I just love him. His voice settles my jangled up mind❤

This man truly amazes me every time he sings, he stays quiet in Hollywood but when I asked to sing he fucking delivers
It doesn't get Eddie Vedder than this.

Man Eddie just puts you there doesnt he? I hope he stays for us. I love him. It would be fitting I think in a way, If he were there to sing them all off... What a beautifully somber voice. I really feel it when he sings, and Chris too. Powerful stuff.
Eddie sure cleans up nicely! RIP to all we lost this past year.
Brilliant performance 👏🎸🎶
Eddie Vedder.....thank you for singing a Tom Petty song, a great one, appropriate....and doing it well. Peace xo

So beautiful and relevant. A great Oscar's tribute to those mentioned and possibly Eddie's way of giving his respects to Chris and Tom.

Saloni Saini they were members of the Academy, Shashi Kapoor starred in the first ever movie that James Ivory made, and Sri Devi is very popular especially among the French because of her vulnerability and a distinctive charm that reminds people of Audrey Hepburn. Of course they had to include them. They don't do it for any random Indian actor that dies. Tom Alter wasn't included.

Cada tema cantado por el maestro Ed Vedder simplemente sabe llegar hasta lo mas recondito del alma... Exitos Eddie Vedder... :)
Surprised but so glad to see the two amazing actresses that were Jeanne Moreau and Danielle Darrieux to get recognition at the Oscars !
this was so emotional. i mean, i know like 2 people of the ones they showed but just looking at the pics of the other people and their names... it’s so huge. the voice of eddie vedder and the song in general helped me to really think of the people that passed away and genuinely remember them. :( R.I.P
What a perfect song choice. It was the first song I listened to when Tom Petty died, it just felt right.

umm, sorry but this is objectively, factually WRONG.
Thank you, Eddie. That was beautiful.
beautiful.
Well done Eddie!
Eddie Vedder es el mejor músico en inglés del mundo
Thank you Mr. Vedder. That was beautiful.
You had big shoes to fill when it all came falling down, Eddie Vedder. Thank you for rising to the occasion for those of us that needed you.
John Heard 😔 The Home Alone Dad and much more. RIP... 😭
Thank you Academy for including the Evergreen and dashing Shashi Kapoor and the late and very young Sridevi. She is a legend an icon and regarded as India first female superstar especially in Bollywood. Thank you recognizing Bollywood and these two Legends!
