Eddie Murphy Gets Revenge on Dave Chapelle | The Nutty Professor (1996) | Family Flicks
Фильм және анимация
Buddy Love (Eddie Murphy) gets his revenge on the insult comic Reggie (Dave Chapelle), by heckling him on stage with jokes and throwing him into a piano.
The Nutty Professor (1996): Eddie Murphy gives the "performances" of his career playing no less than seven roles in this uproarious Jekyll-and-Hyde comedy from Imagine Entertainment. Murphy stars as Dr. Sherman Klump, a kind, "calorically-challenged" genetics professor who longs to shed his 400-pound frame in order to win the heart of beautiful Jada Pinkett. So, with one swig of his experimental fat-reducing serum, Sherman becomes "Buddy Love", a fast-talking, pumped-up, plumped-down Don Juan.

I had the luck to see the first hangover movie in the theatres. it was a sneak preview on a really hot summer night before it actually aired and the crowd went wild. i remember that a lot of people came from other film screenings into our screening and sat on the floor. even the employees and the security guards were sitting on the floor. and you can probably imagine how everyone lost it at the outro. it was pretty much a perfect movie night

Tell you a secret. IT WAS SCRIPTED FOR RATINGS.....
4:16 Eddie laughing hysterically in that short span of silence makes this scene stupid funny
1:54 it's my favorite part of the movie xd
I remember thinking that Dave Chapelle reminded me of the skinny black comedian character from the Nutty Professor, and many, many years later, eventually realized that it actually WAS Dave Chapelle!
2:38 the way he conjured up that laugh 😂

I’ll never forget this scene, my family and I had to watch it maybe 3 more times cause everyone in our theater was laughing so hard we couldn’t hear the next joke
Man I forgot just how freaking funny Eddie is. Gen X, to us, he was our GOAT.

@@one-day-at-a-time4134 I think it gets overdone but in my case, it's a handy way to give the audience context. Gen X is a fairlyi different audience. I get older millennials are actually kind of hybrid Gen X. But yeah I know what you mean, it often is just reductionist period.
Oh my god this is god tier. I can't believe I forgot this scene.
In case anyone is wondering, not only is this version of The Nutty Professor absolutely hilarious (and ultimately pretty touching near the end), the original with Jerry Lewis is great too. Completely different interpretations of Jekyll and Hyde, both have great moments of acting, perfect examples of narcissism.

i remember watching this movie in the theatres. The whole audience was howling the entire movie. I've never had another movie going experience quite like it.

Love Eddie Murphy, but I still think that the original with Jerry Lewis was better.

The Jerry Lewis version was wayyy more dark than this one. I like this version, but I favor the Lewis version
Whaaaaat I never realized that Reggie was Chappelle. Holy cow lol

There's a great clip somewhere with Dave talking about this movie and when he said the "Who's sucking on who's titty over here" line made Eddie spit out his drink 🤣
“It’s time to attack black”😂😂😂😂
I just can't imagine the raging headache Eddie Murphy must have had from having to laugh so long and hard!
This may be my favorite Eddie Murphy scene 🤣🤣 Soo funny, soo over the top, I love it 😂😂

@@jackbedientYou're crazy. 90's was a blast.
Chapelle has gone soooo beyond all of this! It’s great to reminisce in his humble beginnings while witnessing his rise.
Hands down one of the funniest/greatest scenes from any comedy movie.
I remember renting this movie from BLOCKBUSTERS in the 90s. 😅😅😅😅
If only Will Smith had some witty one-liners available, things could have been different
