For the american people I will put Eddie's aspirations in perspective. He was rejected for the Labour NEC, on political debate programmes in the UK he was constantly humiliated because its easy to peddle simple solutions but life isn't like that and he didn't have any depth to his understanding of subjects and so was torn apart by people who had a better grasp of the issues. In addition UK members of parliament earn around $100K per annum + job related expenses which unfortunately doesn't mean you always get the best talent as politicians.... similar to America.

He's also already served as temporary head of the Labour Party's NEC in 2018, when its elected leader resigned amid controversy, so you can look at his work during those few months.

You can introduce policies that prevent incapable and mentally ill people from becoming president, by having rigorous psychological testing of candidates. You can start from curiousity, but that won't make other people curious. Racists will always exist and have always existed. It's policies that prevent discrimination in the form of laws, even for racists.

Politics are a joke now. People vote to be trendy. Parents telling their kids to vote for their favorite misfit based on color and sexuality is absolutely wrong. This is about qualifications and ability. People complain about Trump, well go look at the Dow jones industrial since he took office. We just broke record levels and it’s continuing to grow. This country and many others will fall apart just as Rome finally did and people will again blame the wrong people. Don’t bother calling me racist or a prude because I don’t care what color or sexual preference anyone is, if they have the skill and ability to do the job they get my vote. My kids can also decide who they think should be there only when they know the right information on who is running not because I told them to or they were challenged to go vote for someone like ALS ice bucket challenge. People are making politics and government a complete mockery.

He has said **in this actual video** that he supports people working together instead of bitterness and splitting into smaller groups. "Amazingly" he didn't support the nationalist separatist misery trumpeted by the scottish nationalists. I'd say you need to get over your sense of grievance but given that you are an 'indy' supporter stroking your victimhood is like breathing to you. (Really though, listen to what folk like Izzard say about working together and you might start to see why nationalist tribalism were never going to get a thumbs up.)

Partly why the snp consistently fail to get more than a minority of support is because they can never show how people's standards of living, mobility and opportunities would have been anything other than lower in their "indy" dream. You and your ilk cannot engage in discussions about Scottish independence with throwing around pathetic insults and lies. Under the current Scottish Government I and my family are better off! My children’s education is a better standard with smaller classes, more staff. I get free prescriptions and my government doesn’t want to leave the EU which despite all the promises (read lies!) from the better together gang (all of whom are leading the charge to get us out) we are being forced out!

Btw, the positive aspects you listed in your economic circumstances and standards of services like schools are things that you get as part of the wider union. And not what would be available under a bankrupted, "liberated" place. I get the romance of "we could be free" etc etc, really, but when it comes down to the nuts and bolts of what would actually happen.....the separatist movement comes up wanting.

Everyday prayer and reading a Bible is key to happiness. Yet this rats' race is causing a damage to our lifes. It shouldn't be like this that we don't have time for the most important things.
