Haunting. Beautiful. Still moves people this 2020. Who agrees?
Eddi takes her music to the people that love her and she loves them straight back. She sings from her heart and if she wants to wave her arms like she does,I would suggest it's the least of your problems.
after all these years, this song still resonates with me so deeply ❤❤❤
A fantastic song beautifully performed. Those hands; Eddi knows air theremin is where it's at
This song makes the hairs on my head stand on end,one of the most beautiful voices i have ever head.
I'm a big fan of Thomas Dolby. Genious. First saw Eddie Reader many years before she was signed, singing at a Jazz Gig in Kilmarnock some...27? years ago? Nice singing Eddie and so you know, the Scirrocco souls are all still knocking about. Larry, Spike, Clark etc. Even The Longhorns are back together looking for gigs. ;)
Wonderful song, beautifully sung by Eddi Reader! Lovely performance.
This is a really deep song. Love it.
this is sublime, Eddie is more than inspirational... good on ted for consistently having wonderful things to offer everyone.
Two of my favorites on stage - Tom Dolby and Eddi Reader (great voice) - what a combination - nicely done, thanks for uploading this

Eddi Reader, once the singer for Scottish Band called Fairground Attraction. Thomas Dolby is the fun experimentalist with electronics and scientific gadgets coupled with a archealogists ideal. Is good to see them both.

i cried, thanks
what a lovely voice!
beautiful
eddi reader - what a great voice. i recommend the other thomas dolby collabs, cruel and oceanea..
This is a song by labor and grassroots organizer Simon "Si" Kahn of Charlotte, N.C. He should be given credit in the post,
excellent
this is important to me its special
I personally love the hand gestures/movements. It's a lot like my favorite singer Mariah Carey. So power to the crazy hands!!
@K3KCT Some of the most amazing singers in the world do it too. Joplin did it, Joe Cocker does it, Ian Curtis did it. If that's the case, it works for me.
what album is this from? Oh- and do you reccomend any of her other albums?
I think it's an OK version... but why can't I find 'That's Fair' on KZread?
For those of you bothered by her hand gestures.....close your eyes!!!
Words by Si Kahn, Copyright Joe Hill Music.
this song was not written by Eddi Reader. It was not written on a TED theme. It was written by an American songwriter by the name of Si Kahn back in the 1980's.
2 people don't like this? 2 really insane people that ran out of lithium methinks!
Hahahaha
Find the Roy Bailey or Dick Gaughan versions on KZread. Si Kahn is only available off tube singing this. This is my favourite song but this version is awful.
@davy4457 she has a wonderful voice but she expresses herself in a cringeworthy artificial way, as though acting natural, just acting.
its a good song and i like her voice, but i bet i can tell you why shes not selling platinum albums and making music videos .... that stupid thing she does with her right arm - its weird
it just looks like shes trying to disperse a fart. Its not in sync with the music and is just random.
Ye Gods! Take a simple message and turn it into an Opera! destroy the original simple message for a moment of theatricallity. Its not meant to be like this. Go look for other versions .
