Anna, I like the way you are filming. It's nice, a little banter and an update on the progress. Looking good Ed and the build too. ;)
None of your vlogs are boring. Time lapse away 😂
The difference between how it looked day 1 and now is astonishing.
Your vision for that house is exceptional, you should be so proud of yourselves.
the rendered wall is amazing so much lighter and you've achieved a lot since last vlog .Keep putting your back belt on edd 😘
Physics and building are such complicated things. I would have thought that if the head room was good going up the stairs logic would dictate it should be good going down, but damn, you showed us differently. That was fascinating. I am so glad you have a solution Ed!
Edd, our old house had some really low beams in the basement. Not a problem for me, because I'm 5'2" but our son in law is 6'2" would hit his head all the time! He solved the problem by nailing rubber ducks to the underside of the beams 😂😂🦆🦆 which always reminded him to DUCK😂
Omg the stairs are fantastic Ed, and the rendering is looking so good. I appreciate your transparency 😊
It's amazing the transformation between the render outside with the beautiful color and the flooring going in. I like the idea of the high shelf for a TV or storage, plus keeping that window above the door. The bathroom located there for the master suite is a brilliant idea, and just makes sense. Can't wait to see further progress. Thank you for the updates!
Love the rendered walls. It's all looking good.
Edd, the errors are fixable and I never think you don’t admit your mistakes.
Do a railing around the swing of the front door like a skylight . If you put a floor above the door there will be no light in the entry way . ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

This was my thought as well. A wall on the bedroom side, but for the sitting area/office side it would make sense to have a railing and allow the light to flow through both levels. It will also make the sitting area seem larger even though it has limited floor space.
Ed such a tremendous change to this old building. I don't know how you had the vision of what the house could look like. Frankly I would have tore it down. Lol..lol.. Kathy USA 🇺🇸

If the smaller room's bathroom has a shower, rather than a bathtub, then the bathroom is a generous size for that room. Then the larger bedroom can have a full bath. Maybe?

What about putting the large bedroom in the area above the entrance door. Then the bathroom could be near the other bathroom and the waste pipe could be easier to put in. Also I noticed the shadow / remnants of the fireplace on the wall where you were planning a bedroom. How about making that space the sitting room with a high ceiling for a very spacious look. Also do you ever use glass blocks like the ones from the 1930s? Maybe that might be a feature to include for more natural light like making a bit of floor or wall with them over the entrance hall. With such odd shaped floor plan, a room with right angles might be easy on the mind. Thanks for sharing your journey. I enjoy your vlog very much.
Great video again folks. Upstairs where you have to hole in the floor for the front door. Have you thought about putting a hand rail with spindles around it and leave it open like some chateaus have? Could add a nice feature to the sitting room and wouldn’t be any more of a safety issue than falling down the stairs. 🇨🇦

Agree, something like the 70's split-entry choice of wrought iron rail or half-wall.tall plants in a planter with the wonderful tall door. I'd put in one of those vintage giant globe pendant lights.

I was hoping someone would suggest this. I’ll add my vote here. It would add more natural light everywhere and the entrance wouldn’t be so dark. Love this channel. Great job on the renovations!

Dear Romie ❤️ I hope that you are doing well and that everything gets better soon x Sending lots of your way Anna x x x
Thanks for another great video! I appreciate you "thinking out loud" so we can understand more of the process of what it takes to create such an amazing renovation transformation. You do a great job of explaining what you are doing and why. Remember, that by making mistakes, we ultimately learn how to do things better.
It's looking so good now ED. So much has changed since the original purchase! Well done - I love watching the progress and work.
Ed you are brilliant! I never imagined this house looking this good in such a short time! Your vision was superb when you bought the house.
I really can see it pulling all together so beautifully! It was amazing you could imagine such a beautiful space after seeing the condition it was in when you bought it! Thank you!!
I still like the idea of a giant pot with a lemon tree in the corner of the courtyard. Evergreen and useful.
Would be such a fun challenge to post a pdf of the space and open it up for viewers to submit floorplan suggestions!
I'm enjoying watching this entire build and the creative process in action.
Ed, Anna your home is coming along great, Thank you for sharing. It's going to be beautiful.
I'm beginning to see the interior coming alive with character it never had. The walls looks so nice now and it's really looking like a very sturdy rebuild. Once those old windows are out and new ones are in, it'll finally be rid of all of the "slumness" the building was made up of. Good save. Hard work. Surely going to pay off. The neighbors should be so delighted and thankful!
Looking great, the courtyard looks amazing, it looks totally different, and really brightens up the downstairs.👍
Tall people are used to ducking. My friend was 6'9" tall. Edd you don't make mistakes, but correctable errors.

I always thought Edd was about 6’2"! He looks so tall.
Thank you for sharing another wonderful vlog. What a transformation, like a caterpillar to a butterfly. Your concept and visualisation is incredible 😘😘
Wow, so many comments, suggestions, and ideas! I don't have any because I know you will make it a beautiful home. I give you all 2 thumbs up. How I wish I could visit your chateau and meet you all in person. I know your antique event will be awesome. Hopefully, we get to see it. It is Family Day here in Surrey, BC, Canada. Much love from our family to yours.❤
Again, I love this. I enjoy the interaction between the hosts. Great job 🎉
Glad you are correcting the low beam issue at the bottom of the stairs. At 6’4”, my husband would definitely have to duck. Famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright once said “anyone over 6’ is a waist of space. The doorways in his houses were all on the low side. To each their own! 🙏🏼❤️
Idea for upstairs sitting area-use a railing to encircle the main entrance overhead area. As you come into the entrance, the wall on the left can go all the way up towards the second floor ceiling. This large wall would be ideal for displaying large artworks. The open area would visually increase the size of the upper living area and allow the upper door light to illuminate the foyer and increase lighting in the sitting area. Having a two story tall foyer would be ideal for a chandelier, too! Cheers…Jerry
We will miss Louie ... The render looks absolutely beautiful! Such a change!!! So excited for you all. Love seeing your plan come together. Can't wait to see what you do with the windows and shutters ...
I agree with others. Your blogs aren’t boring. Very informative. The steps were just a miscalculation. Great job with the project 😊 Deborah North Carolina
I would take the walls up to the ceiling where the front door is
With all that lovely natural light upstairs, it would make a great 'upside down' house - a beautiful open plan space upstairs and then bedrooms downstairs - but I'm sure whatever you do will be great!
Putting the parquet floors in takes so long but when your done it will look fabulous.😍
Small en suite is usually preferable to a shared hall bath. I've remodeled four homes and added en suite to all bedrooms in remodels two through four. Also, if you can, include laundry upstairs since that where the bulk of clothes and linens are located. If not, then add a laundry chute so you can drop clothes/linens from the first floor to a place near, or in, the ground floor laundry area. Enjoying your progress.
Once again you showed us your expertise. The master ensuite is a fabulous idea.
Another great video you guys! I love the outdoor space and stucco on the walls! It’s also pretty cool to see the layout of the rooms start to take place. Keep up the great work!!
I like the two bed two bath option for upstairs. Hope you can fix your headspace problem.
Love the door/window idea... I was wondering how you were going to address that. Brilliant! 👏👏
SUGGESTION: take the part that is over the step and take it back to the step height you need and keep the rest intact for support...like a "U" shape over the stepput a steel bar on the top ... straight under the bar already existing and never taking out all of the bar thats already installed.... in the part that is taken out for the support.....if its possible.....the rest looks so good Ed and Anna......so wonderful!

Agree, just make a Arch as the entry to the steps, leaving the remaining cement beam under the steel beam.
WOW Ed. I can see it now. It’s looking like something. You’re amazing.
Bathroom by the door and having a window sounds like a great plan. It is coming along nicely.
I am in the process of buying 3 story old house, to make 6 apartments for sale. I would not dream of buying it without making all layout pans with my real estate agents (yes I have team of them) plus my engineer. Before i even make an offer. Everything is laid out before I make my move. Toilet pipes, ventilation, heating - everything is planed and cost is calculated.
You 2 are lovely couple . The place is beginning to look amazing allready . Thanks for sharing this with us xx
Looking forward to the decorating stage and more antique shopping.😁
The outdoor area is looking awesome. Looks like a good place to relax!😊
A Man never made mistakes never made anything.
👍Stairs turned out great and the simplest solutions are always the best when it comes to the plumbing , cheers Ed 🍻
The outdoor area will be a great place to hang out on nice days.😊
Amazing rendering. Great colour. Can't wait to the the wood flooring complete.
❤❤ love the fact your transparent . It takes a good man to admit he’s mistakes 😊… She’s Looking awesome 🤩 👍
The stairs look great, and I love the look of the rendering in the outside area. When you have the floorplan finalized, I'd love to see that. The build is going fast.
I love how everything is coming together. Well done Ed on supporting the back!
I do like those stairs. Having been raised in a bungalow and spending my first 22 years there, when i moved to a house i hated it and have always felt very unsteady on them. Back in 2020 i somehow managed to do a cartwheel down the stairs and busted my ankle. It gave me severe pain for 6 months and although i had xrays and was told it wasn't fractured/broken, still to this day i disbelieve it as i still suffer with it. Maybe a ligament or something was damaged instead of a bone, idk 🤷🏼♀️ I bought myself a cast boot and wore it for months and it gave me comfort. I honestly do not think i'd have gone arse over tit down those stairs.
You only have to leave room for the high door to swing open, you need regulation height rails around it with frosted glass for privacy and a fixed shelf for safety with tenants kids.
Looking fabulous! Thank you all for making and sharing this beautiful episode 💜! 😊😎👍
Looking good. What a difference from day one. Glad there’s a solution to the stairs. Take care of your back Edd. Great filming Anna 😍😘
Coming along nicely. I like the courtyard finish.
Edd, would it be possible for intruders/squatters to climb over your outdoor area walls and enter the house? If so, what can you do to keep them out? Everything you have done is wonderful. Keep going and then let Anna do the interior design at the end! The two of you make a very good team! Best wishes to both of you and your family!

There is no access from the street to the back yard area - it’s all gardens, also I’m pretty sure it’s not a squat area - it’s just that the house attracted the squatters as it was empty and open
Absolutely love it when you tell us your mistakes so many others would’ve covered that up. Ed and Anna make a great team. I am Luis and Cyril are there it’s even better.

Great job, Edd!!
I’m sure, it is a full day, for the amount of work you both have to do. Just seeing the progress you have done is amazing! The rendering certainly brightens that outdoor space….😊
Edd, Great job. Anyone who is new to the channel should go back and watch Edd build the pool at the passion project! It was as amazing as this build.
Edd, your humble modesty is touching! 😂😂😂
When you fit your front door maybe you could fix the top third into the exterior walls so that only the bottom section opens? From the outside it will look like a typical Bordeaux door and you won’t lose the space on the first floor.
I love designing on the fly. I am anxious to see the windows and doors. And especially anxious to see the area around the door, neat idea.
A transom above the door is a great idea for light on that floor. Could you show a drawing and rough sizes of the rooms. That floor looked big enough to have a nice size living room. I just can’t wrap my mind around the shape and spacing. Thank you.
The floors are coming along great.😊
Looking good Ed What a vision James
Just awesome transformation from what you started with.
Such hard work and it's going to be amazing very soon -- health and happiness to you all.
Wow! What great progress! Thank you for sharing all the updates! ❤👍🙏👍
Beautiful progress Ed and Anna I enjoy hearing what the plans are guys. I’m glad the budget is going to plan also 👍
Thank you guys so much for your videos. I enjoy all of you and the fun you have. Wish I had that sense of humor last year when I remodeled our house. Lol. So nice to hear Anna cause I know she is busy. Edd you are amazing. Anna you are absolutely fantastic. 😀😀😀😀
Looking great Ed, the floor is beautiful!
If you want a master with a bathroom, why not put the bathroom where the sitting area is and move the master to the front? This might help with the space over the door for cabinets in the bathroom over the door area and a wall or cabinets in the master. The sitting area would have more light in the back and not be so stiff for the layout of furniture. Just a thought and would prevent cutting through steel beams for plumbing. Don't worry about time editing. You're doing a great job!
Have you thought about leaving the entryway open right to the 2nd floor ceiling on the salon side and hanging a chandelier down into the well, then if you run the wall to the ceiling on the other side of the entry well, you can put the bathroom behind it (right over the existing stack - less work!). Wasn't that where you were originally planning to put the bathroom (or a bedroom - either way it works)? It would allow the light and air to flow between the entryway and the salon and create the illusion both are larger rooms. Thanks for letting us all speculate, we know you'll come up with the brilliant solution, but it's a nice mental exercise to think "what would I do?"
I'm glad it all worked out for you it's amazing how addressing one problem that you perceive the long expansive concrete over the opening actually solved the real problem of the low clearance for the stairway
Beautiful work there Ed and Anna really enjoyed this video as I can see how it's coming together now.
Good morning. Good to see you guys again.😊👍
You could maybe do a thick acrylic piece coming out from door, so light still reaches stairs.
BEST WISHES TO YOU
The render looks great. Brightens the space. 🤗
Bathroom with sitting /tv room makes the best sense. Let the noise zones be away from the bedrooms.... in case noise moves beyond the walls😊. That would be a concern in the US, maybe not so in your setting. Awesome, Ed. I love your creative processes. This will be a stunner come open house time.
Maybe add a skylight just in front of the entrance window. Then a couple of feet down the entrance hall ceiling add a small chandelier. 😃
Your interior entryway behind the front door may look somewhat tunnel-like once the floor for the sitting area is installed upstairs. So hopefully you will plaster and paint it a bright white with strong lighting... perhaps building a niche into one of the walls in that entryway to break up the mass of the wall on the right side so as to add decor. Also, it would add drama to the master bedroom if you could leave the ceiling beams exposed with perhaps one of that bedroom's walls left unplastered with the original pointed stone wall acting as an accent wall.
It is ok Edd no one is perfect and we make glitches in life 😊
Looking great!!!
Maybe give us a floor plan and let the planning wizards give you suggestions?
