One drum beat that would seem “copyrightable” would be Ringo’s opening lick on “Come Together”. It’s so distinctive that it is almost like a composition.

Im glad musicians fight for their work. You can tell the difference between folks who play cover songs and those that create original music. This is not about basic chord progressions.
