Ed Goddard - Marathon Pre-Race Workout

Ed Goddard is one of Australia's fastest (and youngest) Marathoners. At age 24 Ed has already run 2:13:45 as well as 62:15 for the Half Marathon and 28:23 for the 10,000m.
Ed ran 2:13 at the Manchester Marathon on April 3rd just 5 weeks ago- he was on pace for 2:11 until the final 5km when he began to suffer from muscle cramps in his hamstrings and calves.
He will line up for another Marathon this weekend at the Copenhagen Marathon (15th May) to see if he has the World Championships automatic qualification time (2:11:30) in his legs.
The workout: 10min tempo, 1 mile hard, 3 x (2min fast, 1min easy), 10min tempo, 1 mile hard. Recovery: 1-2min.

Hahah this might be one of my favourite characters on the Sweat Elite channel yet! Running around Hide Park with a Big fat mullet, iconic glasses and Rolling Stones blasting out his IPhone is such a vibe. Thanks for showcasing these amazing athletes! Will definitely cheer for Ed in the streets of Copenhagen this weekend!

It'll stop the itch :).......................... good luck, would be great to see you and Nick smash it!

Did he just jump into the Thames? OMG, that is not sanitary. London literally dumps millions of tons of untreated, raw sewage directly into the Thames monthly. The Thames is literally a major component of London's public sewer system.

Another one of the weirdos who just holds phone in hand while running. There are dozens of us! Dozens! Look at how he glides too - so little up/down movement even during warm up and when he falls into the groove it is gone almost entirely. In order to run with something in your hand like that you HAVE to know how to glide properly or it becomes unbearable. Some times I hold a water bottle when I run just to train myself to keep my balance better :p If he gets wireless bone conducting headphones he can hold the phone like that and run and have better experience even. that's my solution :)
