**** I have recent respect for the EcoBoost. I was at my local cars and coffee, and a guy had swapped the 2.3L EcoBoost crate engine/manual transmission into a 89 Foxbody Notchback. (Looked like grandma 's car. Dark brown over light brown interior) It had Intake, tune, full exhaust, with 3.89 rear gears. It was very surprising, and quick AF. Epic sleeper build!!!

This truck ran 13.0 @ 105 with major traction issue. 420hp 532tq to tire just tuned. Last truck swap made 603hp 658tq to tire on E51 tune only. The 658tq was by 3200 rpm. Still have 2 more EcoBoost swaps in ford trucks plus a 7.3 zilla 10R140, one of my daily drivers is a Gen3 Coyote. Make each one a bit different. Have 5 FE/FT trucks also. 11 trucks total.

Thanks much! Very soon will try to get video of current Raptor/F100 Swap it's a entire different animal with a solid 200 more wheel hp and a bunch more tq. I just need to change rear suspension a bit for better traction as it's very limited until around 60 mph

I owned a pair of 2015 3.5 EcoBoost Interceptor Sedans (Taurus) and a friend of mine has one of the ones I owned now and we were both thinking at that very moment before he floored it the guy was probably hoping that the way he mounted everything was tight enough because that's almost 400hp stock just waiting to leave that truck body on the asphalt behind it. Edit: I had correct a bunch of stuff because 'talk to text' pretty much massacred what I was trying to say.

With the Caltracs it was a world difference. I built just a few lbs of boost then eased into throttle. any WOT and it would just smoke em. There was a small amount of wheelspin thru entire run. Yours will be much quicker because of AWD

I don't particularly care for this swap, but that's because I don't think heavier vehicles do much for the life of a smaller displacement turbo engine. Pretty quick though!

This truck was 4200 lb a bunch lighter than typical truck this engine would come in. My current Ecoswap truck has 200 more hp and is 400 lb lighter. These 3.5’s & 2.7 EcoBoost make great swap engine and are great bang for the buck when one has limited $$. The 5.0 Coyotes are great engines but a lot more costly especially if trying to make same power up to say 600.

The little engines perform so much better than a v8 in tune only situations. But i do agree take a 3.5 in a new raptor when it’s 6000 lb. No thanks but take that same engine add 250hp remove 2000 lb and you have my latest build.

@Kevin.W. A 352 would not do what I needed it to do. I have plenty of other 65-66 trucks with 352, 390's. My current daily driver is a stock 352. To properly build a 352 it would have cost more also by the time one has EFI, OverDrive. Not feasible

I SAVED a classic! I paid the 300.00 salvage offer for it to go to crusher. Interior was gone as was the drivetrain. Body only "fair" shape. If it were your buck what would you have done? Parted it out?

@@randysrestorationprobably would’ve sat in his garage or backyard until it rotted to death. You definitely saved it and I love the motor swap bc it’s different and honestly those eco boosts are great motors that are underrated.

@@_saucyam_ it had already sat in backyard rotting away for 30 yrs. Had not run in same amount of time. Engine was toast. It was either i give him 300.00 or he sells it for scrap for 300.00. It was not worth restoring back to stock. What i did was only way to fly.

Like i can no problem do the motormounts , an all the fabrication , but stabbing in the dark with the electronics. Is there plug , and play harnesses available? Also is it a must.to use the same transmission that it came from the factory with? Id rather have a manual transmission. Q buddy of mine has a 2.7. We pull tractors with it , and it doesn't know it has a load behind it. I plan on using a simple gps speedometer, and hope i dont need all the crap that is in his dash for it to work. Just want it to have the minimal gauges , without all that digital stuff,.andall the buttons to mess with.

@coburnlowman Somehow missed your message. I have done 1/2 dozen eco swaps. Very little support in the aftermarket. Best and cheapest was is to get all components from a running driving vehicle. Otherwise using stock pcm one will need a way to program it all like I did for 10yrs. At one time Ford Performance offered a control pack but for just certain years. There are many who have went to manual transmission. If you look for my other EcoBoost projects I have a couple just engine transmission only none of the fancy electronics.
