I love Boho and eclectic. I love color. I'm a maximalist, too. Makes your home interesting and fun.

I love eclectic, it shows humor and personality and celebrates art and life. My home is eclectic for sure.

I love eclectic design but also love Afro-Boho design as well. Meaning I love color

I accidentally fell into this style when I inherited/found some pieces that I fell in love with and decided that I HAD to have. Then I put them together and added on to it. I always travelled all over the world and have pieces from different countries and cultures in all kinds of materials. I have no idea how, but they just flow together so well! I think that I had more of a red line in my preferences than I thought, while also having such different pieces. Ended up with an eclectic vintage chic interior, and an undertone of bohemian elements. Love it!

Some beautiful pictures. I'm a big fan of the dark and moody spaces.

I loved your video. The room with an orange sofa and lots of plants was my favorite. My own style is eclectic. I live in a log home and am not one for typical log home style furniture. The thing I enjoy most about eclectic is when you go into an eclectic style home, you get to really see WHO'S home it is. I have friends with beautifully, tastefully and often expensively decorated homes, but to me they look like anybody could live there. Like a model home. That's what some folks want and that's okay. It's just not me.

love this look--- it's like a celebration of life

My style is eclectic. One wall is a mix of masks etc Other wall is giraffes Other wall is African photos. I have wild n bright eclectic rug I also have different color sheer curtains with wild drapes on top of them n red curtains on top of those. I got wild color ottomans n furniture pieces n red couch cover with eclectic pillows. In your video I liked the next 2 last design purplish pink color. I saw a video where half your wall is painted from the bottom of the wall with molding on top where paint ends-but I have no one 2 take on the task.

My whole life I have been a maximalist without knowing it, being minimalism the trent nowadays, I thought I was weird but then I discovered today that it is a decor and a style of life. I feel better now 😁👍

🤣🤣 minimalism is so popular right now but I just cannot bring myself to get into it. I don't know if I'm quite a maximalist but I definitely lead more on that side then being a minimalist. I just like stuff that I love to be around me!! Thank you for watching !

I am a minimalist as far as my clothes go. I don't spend much on them. I drive an older car that's paid off and I rarely eat out, but when it comes to my living space I definitely like to max out.

All the rooms were beautiful but my favorite rooms were the ones with the green sofa's and they are stunning,i also like the pretty airy blue room👍👍👍💞 just lovely

You have a great eye! Your videos are always fun and inspirational. Since I was a young teenager, I've always loved to thrift decor items (and clothes), and created a home that reflected that aesthetic. It's fun to see these designs have become mainstream and now have a name for it, "Eclectic." My tastes vary so much, I love so many styles, that eclectic maximalism is definitely my taste. I only regret getting rid of so many things throughout my life. Hey, I guess that means I'm not a hoarder! lol!

I like maximalist style but in the neutral colors make more things to play with and easy on the eyes but still fun decorations 😌🙏👍

There were several I absolutely loved the moody colored one with the no smoking sign was my favorite.

The decor you show is so beautiful. I wish I could capture it in my modest little house.

i used to have an eclectic style when i moved to my own apartment, i felt very happy. But gradually it grew on me. the vibrant colors, extra decor, all those extra stuffs started to make my mind busy and restless. 2 years forward and i have changed to a more neutral palette with warm minimalist style and this gives me immense peace but still the same satisfaction of home decor. I love many styles of home decor buy honestly the boho and eclectic styles look and feel great for short span and later the home starts feeling like a jungle resort. it's beautiful, just not for me.

As an artist I love all the rooms. They are all my favorites. My apt is eclectic filled with all the things I love!!! When people walk in they don't know where to start looking first. My son doesn't know what a normal house looks like. He has been around this all his life. He would always say mom pls don't bring any junk in here. Junk to him but treasured of love 💕 to me.

Love it! But only a few were close to mine. The one that was teaming with color is me! My only problem is I lack funds currently to change what is now 14 years old. I love tons of different colors. Nothing matching plants, plants, plants. O fyi I am a certified interior designer. I just need $$$$. I subscribed😊

I LOVE a good green velvet anything! Sofa, Chaise, Accent chair...whatever LOL! I'm shocked at how many people have eclectic home decor in their homes! I didnt know how people would like the eclectic style because I love it but sooo many people seem to really enjoy it.

So many wonderful ideas! I especially love the room at 7:46! I am a senior and have recently moved into a very small apartment. My main living space is 12 X 16 and my plan is to make it my living room/studio/office. I know!!!! A tight budget and a tight space. I am restricted by the management rule of no changes to the physical structure (including paint and wallpaper!). I expect that this project will evolve over time and I hope to document my progress step by step. I expect it to be a fun challenge! Thanks for the inspiration!

I’ve been wondering what to call my style for my Zen Den. Now I know is is Eclectic. You showed some magnificent examples. I feel inspired!

Totally love...my home in Florida is quite eclectic sharing Boho and Tiki (Botiki) with taxidermy, oddities and black accent walls...it is so comfortable for me, I rarely leave it...except to wander my gardens of banana trees...

@@HomeDecor1011 I know right even a lot of my clothes would be of the eclectic style I guess most people say some of the shirts I wear are loud. All I know I have climbed trees for 25 years and I don't want to look like a tree guy 24/7

It would be good if the clips had numbers. I LOVE the rooms that are abundant and have a strong, vivid color palette. I LOVE eclcectic. Eclectica is my middle name (lol).

I love having lots of colours in my apartment, but I always dress in black, cos it hides imperfections lol ;)

I like most of these rooms but if I went eclectic I'd have to also go "housekeeper". Waaay too much for any one person to keep dusted,vacuumed, and swept. 🤣

To each his own and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My idea of eclectism is mixing 'classic' period styles tastefully together such, for example, antique pieces 'married' with modern and contempory ones. Good furniture styles of one period usually go well with another piece from another era. Mixing a 'bastardic' not-well-designed piece of furniture with another not-well-designed one = not a good look. Instead of spending a pile of money to fill up a room with not-so-well-designed pieces that gives it a 'thrift store look' spend that money on a few nice 'classic' pieces that will give the room 'class.' Add in some nice modern art and cut back on all the miscellanous knick-knacks and forgo trying to fill up every inch of space with something. The result will be more pleasing and visually coherent. It will look more professional and not so amateur.

I ABSOLUTELY CONCUR with these statements. 👏🏻👏🏻. I feel that way as well, and over a good 50 to 60% of these rooms were were just stuff thrown together and it does not look good and that is not what eclecticism is it's like you said you you've thought about the way the pieces look together and you're not just throwing crap everywhere .... trying to fill up a space with subpar items.

@@texasstardust6010 Thanks for agreeing, TexasStardust. At least there are two of us who agree on this! I may add that someone should not attempt eclecticism in decor unless they have some grounding in interior design and are reasonably educated about period decor and have studied furniture design and some art history. Eclecticism is not for everybody and should only be attempted with proper background and some prior study to come off successfully. It is not for the faint-hearted and only the bold go there. Done well the result can be stunning and quite unique! Done poorly it comes off as 'Early Thrift Store.'

Artists and artisans are very professional, We just so happened to embrace many sorts of styles, And incorporate many in their spaces. there are no rules Nor should anyone have to abide by said set of "rules" Your home should evoke happiness and maybe even some laughter! To imply that creatives who embrace many styles aren't professional, is just false!

If you enjoy your beige house with your one pop of color then so be it, but you have no right to judge others!

@@pixieaeschliman1641 Everyone is entitled to decorate their home any way they like. If the way you choose to do it makes your boat float then by all means do it. We are talking here about a specific way of designing an interior that even professional designers agree can be a bit difficult to pull off successfully 'to work.' Throwing things together that makes you happy is not 'eclecticism.' It is just a random collection of 'things' you like living with and that is all that is important. If that works for you then that is all that matters. Just don't tell people your home is decorated in the 'electic' style of interior design because it isn't.

I don't care about harmony. My house, my rules. I'm not trying to impress anyone.

I don't like dead animal heads on the wall, or splashes of hot pink... but other than that a lot of these pictures are pretty cool. One of the nice things about this style is that a guest never feels like an unwelcome addition that is cluttering up the landscape.

Great question Kim! A lot of people use the two terms interchangeable, but they are indeed different. Eclectic is more so a design style that blends different home decor styles and fuses them together in one room/ home. Maximalism on the other hand, is all about the more. More texture, more patterns, more fabrics etc... So a rom that is Eclectic could very well be max as well and vice versa!

....Well, there is fine line to " Eclectic " and the. ," Bo- ho look " that is what I saw in some of these examples. I consider " Eclectic " to be a mix of some classic pieces , good use of colour, and knowing that it can't " go both ways " - meaning that there's a contradiction of terms ,when it's not well thought out , and curated in such a way that makes sense. Some of these rooms were wayyyyy too busy, did not have a good vibe, and how could one feel at peace in all that ... (?)

Part of the biggest issue with the world today is ," nobody wants to be judged and this and that " when if people use more discernment and judge things for what they are then we probably have less issues in this world ......so there's that. Hi! Some of the examples are definitely fusion rooms. I always like to do a good fusion just so people can see what's possible. So in that video they're definitely probably were some eclectic boho rooms as well as eclectic maximalism and even possibly an eclectic shabby chic or two. Home Design is really personal so what feels cluttered to me might work for you and vice versa. Honestly I know minimalism is huge but I'm not a huge fan of it. I try not to discourage others from doing it because that may be the perfect style for them, but I've tried and I just can't get into it. My style isn't actually eclectic either, however I do appreciate the beauty in it. Thank you so much for watching

Doesn't look much different than Boho !.mine is earthtones, macrame, wicker,lace curtains and dollies and of course lots of large house plants.

I like all these, I dislike the books in decoration, they are out.

I think you missed the point.

How about don't give a F about "rules" and "start with blue" or "adding natural texture" and just relax and decorate with the things you like..? Let everything take time. Find something you like - then add it. No rules! A home that is decorated all att one time just to be decorated is ugly and fake.

I started reading decorating and design books in the 70s. The eclectic style was very popular and it was my favorite. Except for six or seven rooms, the rooms in this video are hideous. A couple are downright scary. It's like an assault to my senses. I guess I like my eclectic a little more serene.
