I'm so fortunate I got to see and hear Jakob Dylan and his outstanding Echo In the Canyon band two nights in a row, first at the premier of the documentary at the LA Film School, then the next night at the CD release show at Amoeba Music, both in Hollywood in July 2019. I fell so in love with their CD that I started my own tribute to this great music. I was already a huge fan of the Laurel Canyon '60s and '70s singer/songwriters and bands, and am so grateful that this movie and CD turned me on to a lot more of it. It's such a deep catalog of so many great artists that it reminds me of the Impressionists in Paris in the 1870s & 1880s. Thank you, Jakob., for the insight and talent to do superb covers by these iconic artists. More, please!!!

I was blessed enough to have been alive at this time in history. ! I grew up not far from Laurel Canyon., spent much time hanging out at the Country Store, saw so many of the great musicians that lived in the neighborhood. Neil Young, was the one that really stands out, because he was incredibly friendly to a 15 y o girl, from Beverly Hills High School. This music was just incredible, as were those times… the documentary, “ Echo in the canyon” … a magnificent telling of what was happening, at a particular time in history. These musical geniuses had no idea, how influential they would become, they just loved playing music, getting together, sharing ideas, It was a time of innocence, and great creativity, and if someone, “copped” a riff or line as Clapton said, …the lawsuits didn’t fly, unlike today!😫😖😖

I'll pile on and add my endorsement that we're hearing Clapton on all the lead parts. Lots of similarities to "Let It Rain" to include the vocal "ooohs" at the fade-out, the piano/guitar interplay and Clapton's tone. Nicely done.

Stephen wrote this, Buffalo Springfield made it happen. Jakob comes along with this Magical show he's made, everybody is feeling Cool. The Beauty that made this Incrieblé. You remember when there is about One human you want to talk to, you are so in love. That is the Magic of this rendition. Can Stills make Magic? Did that mystery man on guitar make it so Magical, even Stills, just laced it up? Jakob, your voice is perfection on this. Such a Loving and Lovely song. You feel the magic of loving with everything you've got. Not everyone gets that privilege. Awesome.

This is one of the great Buffalo Springfield songs (though it's really just Stills with a little help from Richie Furay in the original recording). There are things I like about the cover version, at least until the first guitar break, but I don't care for Eric Clapton's soloing here. It's kind of superficial, just a bit of flash without much creativity or soul, and too much of the screeching notes. Listen to Stills' guitar work on the original--much better in doing a service to the song. Clapton is more into slick and shallow playing here.
