FIRST! 😛 It will be nice to see it run again! (Of course, like the good "bother" I happen to be, I am sure it will probably find another lemony green way to break down. Also, some of the parts, like the oil dipstick tube, have proven just about impossible to find...so if anyone's got a line on those...)

I'd really like to see it run again, but I've got to be honest...it's been a long time. A lot of the trouble was finding all of the parts that were taken off, and some are still missing.

It's funny, the KZread algorithm recently recommended uxwbill's video of you "deleting" the ignition key and pull starting it. I was wondering whether we'd ever get to see it again, and here you are posting a new video on it! I really love these older trucks, and being a diesel is even cooler. I imagine being a manual trans is also a lot of fun, however I can't really speak to that myself as I'm one of those so-called "lazy millennials" who has never driven anything but automatics. Good luck with the project, I'm exited to see more! Maybe it'll give me the motivation to pull my own 1993 Ford Taurus "POJ" out from the field.

We had a lot of fun making that video...there are definitely times I miss those days, though it probably wouldn't be impossible to get "the crew" (such as it is) back together. Of course, we'd have to find the time, too. There's more than enough torque that this is an easy manual transmission to drive...you almost can't stall it unless you're doing something stupid like starting in second gear (which it doesn't really like, but will do). By comparison, Ranger Danger (2.3 L I4, also a five speed, but no "granny low" as the EBGPOJ has) is definitely a bit on the underpowered side, especially if one had the A/C on. Still, it was fun to putt-putt around town in...but it was NOT fast. Obnoxious opinions department: I do not agree (to say the least!) with folks who say "oh, you aren't driving if you don't have a manual transmission". I don't have the patience for it in stop-and-go city traffic. I do think that if you want a manual transmission in a car or truck you should be able to get one, but please don't tell me all about how great it is and how inferior a car or truck you can just put in "drive" happens to be. Some advancement in technology is a good thing. Back when this truck was still running, the Keykeeper and I drove to one of our favorite restaurants in "the big city"...he in the Green Lemon and I in the Caprice station wagon. We kept hitting all the lights red, and people were blowing up his cellular phone left and right. By the time we got to the restaurant, he was rather put out to say the least. Like any good "bother" would, I hassled him mercilessly about this by pointing out that all I had to do was just "sofa" along and let the TH700R4 do all the work. 😛 I probably also pointed out the working A/C on the wagon, since it was a hot summer night. (This truck's A/C probably could work, but there's a leak of unknown severity somewhere.)

I had a red 1993 K1500 extended cab a few years back. It was optioned just shy of a Z71. I wound up trading it off for a 2005 Jeep Liberty, which was one of the worst vehicles I have ever owned. I could kick my own ass for letting that truck go.

This truck is way better than Chinese Made PUTs today, and it's really good design. When will you get a new Ignition Switch for this EBGPOJ without bypass the switch? Now don't give me wrong, I like older PUTs from 1990's or older that are made to be serviced and to keep it running again. And where is the newer ones? Newer ones are made to be scrapped nowdays like for example, the 2015 Ford F150 has alluminum body, and it has plenty of torque to drive against 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and 2015 GMC Sierra, the problem about alluminum body, it's not that sturdy to withstand against heavy items when loading it to the bedlines by causing to puncture through the bedlines without plastic skid resistant bedlines and may end up replacing the whole bedlines with either a new one, or turn into a farm truck. Other PUTs has steel body to withstand any heavy items at the same page. Although the vintage PUTs are usually nowdays are using as a showoff vehicles but not usually. There is someone out there still using the vintage trucks today and majority of drivers still using a new trucks today. Especially for new trucks, all auto manufacturer is now making trucks are made for sports use and not for the work trucks and it is really don't make any sense to me the way all auto manufacturers are doing away of producing work trucks for not just for private owners, but also for business owners and for federal owners to use as a work truck on the regular basis. And I hope it better not be a tofu dreg project vehicles that are very dangerous to make things worse and cause serious problems. I wish you a very best good luck when servicing your EBGPOJ truck.

@walshmonster2005 I remember back in 2018, me and my family used to own the 1996 GMC Suburban K2500, it has a sweet ride and runs like a PUT, used to drive around in the federal campground area in FL, and it was fun to play with it. Sadly, the head gasket was shot and cause engine to have leaky oil and no way to stop the leakage, and ended up trading with POS 2010 Ford Flex AWD SEL in KY, and I am really disappointed how Ford Flex has an rusted floor pan and the unibody, plus with the roaring front differential, and replacing the door actuator in the dashboard and in the glove box. By the time in 2021, finally, my family traded in from 2010 Ford Flex AWD SEL to 2016 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X 4D PUT, and I really am happy that the truck runs smoothly and never has problems at all. At that time, I am driving the truck with my mother and keeping the truck with us. Fast forward to 2022, they bought 2019 RAM Bighorn 4X4 crew cab, and they like it and for me, I didn't care about their truck since it has knob shift instead of console shifts, or shift levers. Plus, it has auto-off feature part of the government standards, and I understand about fuel efficiency when dealing with traffic congestion and so forth but not when stop and run and cause engine and starter to wear out. Plus, it has a push start button instead of the traditional ignition switch, it has an electronic lock for the tailgate, and it has a backup camera. 2016 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X 4D PUT is for me. And for 2019 RAM Bighorn 4X4 PUT, not so much. Fun fact: Hennessey Mammoth Sport 4X4 PUT is the same thing as for RAM Bighorn 4X4 PUT only available in TX, and can't find Hennessey Mammoth PUTs in KY or in who-knows-where. British YT user carwow has the video that he drove around in UK with American PUT that you can look it up. Nissan Frontier, Nissan Pathfinder, and Nissan Xterra are the models that I will remember when servicing my PUT.
