Looking forward to seeing the EBGPOJ back on the road. I love these C/K Chevy trucks. How is the Furhead doing?
He is good.
Look at AGM well worth the money. I've had really good luck at Fleet farm or farm fleet if you have any near by.
Can't wait see it back on road
I've had the best luck with AcDelco batteries. I've seen many of them go over 10 years without issue and the price on them isn't too bad, in my area at least.
bet you can't wait to get it back on the road
My goodness thats a big engine
Does this still have the nylon rocker retainers? Even HMMWVs have them from what I understand.
I don't remember. Been a while since I had the valve covers off.
I highly recommend getting the Super Start batteries from O'Rielly for your C2500, I've had better luck and never had any problems with those Super Start batteries from O'Rielly with my '01 Toyota Tundra and when I had a '98 Chevy C1500 Pickup.
NAPA Premium Legend AGM!
I was going to recommend an AGM too.
Making progress! Let’s see who posts a startup video first: you on the EBGPOJ or UXWBill on his Caprice.
I'm very curious on how the Caprice is doing these days
I'm not sure why anyone would think this is some kind of contest. The Caprice runs and drives. I need to put a battery in it, but, um...that's not really a big deal. I haven't wanted to spend the money, because I hope they'll come back down in price. (Keep dreaming!) It certainly didn't have a major breakdown like this truck did...
@@uxwbill - Sounds to me like a KeyKeeper victory is all but assured! 😂
I run several of these exact same year and setup trucks on the farm. If you end up needing any input on it feel free to free to reach out. enjoyed your videos for well over a decade now. Ever since back in the forgotten grain truck era. It even inspired me to have this copy cat user name that ended up sticking 😂
This video remind me "I Dream of Jeannie" 60s TV serie... 06-21-2024
I hope the Ford Panther platform makes a come back. I drove my friend's white 2004 Lincoln Town Car and it was comfortable ride especially when we went on long trips.
These old Chevy C/K trucks are iconic. I remember the first video I watched was called “The Keykeeper Has Done It Now!” on uxwbill’s channel where you got the EBGPOJ. You and uxwbill have been an inspiration to get me into automotive and computers. I love to see more videos.
Nice see old green truck
Full time work, I know how that goes (I mess with machines in a factory, which is terrifying because I’m pretty sure they know algebra.. I don’t much care for algebra myself). I’ll definitely stay tuned in for the next video on the subject because this sounds like it’s gonna be a fairly involved brake job. Sounds like there’s a thing or twelve for us all to learn along the way (I do recall at one point needing to replace a parking brake cable, but it was on a 1994 Buick LeSabre Custom so, it was nowhere near as involved to string a new cable).
Thank you
Keykeeper does your dad still have the BBPOJ?
No. He traded it off for a newer truck. It had bad frame rot.
I would rustproof the underside before every winter. I do this every year with my own car.
I used to love the 1996 GMC Suburban K2500 the blue one with tan accent, it has a sweet ride, it was in Florida one time, and then they traded in with POS 2010 Ford Flex AWD SEL, and I was disappointed, and the condition is getting worse and later traded in with 2016 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X, and it was nice truck. On the other hand, I really missed the 1996 GMC Suburban K2500 that drives like a truck and rides like a truck, although it just worn-out. And yes, it was not that simple to replace the parking brake cable as I can imagine. But who knows that it might be a way to look up the schematics and see how to replace the parking brake cable and amongst other things. I don't know that you saw the video that the YT user had a video including the retired military 1994 GMC Suburban. It was really cool look.
Thanks for the update! Sounds like you've got a plan coming together, and I'm looking forward to seeing more!
I have been around since you got the truck and when Bill got the big blue whale (caprice classic) and all the fun videos with the naughtyac. The first video I ever saw from you guys was the video of UXW titled “cold start of the old cold forgotten Buick” I was in early middle school then. You guys are a part of my childhood and I love seeing all your great work. On a final note l bought a vintage Chrysler because of the videos you guys did with bills K’s
If you want someone to fix the rust on that, just give me a shout. It's still a really solid truck. (I'm the one who showed up after Hamfest in the manual swapped Suburban last year).
I will keep that in mind. Thanks.
I spy a mustang gt exhaust!
get another BBPOS buddy
I’ve been watching you and your brother for 10plus years now! I remember when you got that truck!! You guys should do a video on the old grain truck or the old tractors…thanks for coming back and making videos again!!
Have you relocated the truck to where you live so it’s easier to work on or is it still at your parents house?
The truck is in a garage down the road from my house. 3 blocks.
First! I hate when reallife puts the brakes on projects
Didn't see been uploading new video again thanks for sharing
Going be brand new truck when get done....cant wait see video of back on road
My cousin Tuco was intercepted with a kilo of 000 on one of this! Nice car
Wish I could get this or a Crown Vic in Denmark
Did it come with an AARP membership card?
Wow how time flies! I remember when you first got the 2010 and I believe at that point it had 25,000 miles on it. I love these Panther cars, I think it was a big mistake on Fords part to stop building them. My town still has one Crown Vic police car, and I think it's still the best one they have, though it is rarely used. I told the police chief they should ditch the Explorers and put a Crown Vic on a 4x4 F-150 frame and you would have the best of both worlds.
Is this one a GS trim or a LS trim level?
LS
It's your grandpa's car that last longer than any piece of shit car made in the last few years.
I know brake jobs hardly tend to vary from one t'other, but I'd tune into that video if/when it comes along. Couldn't tell ya why, but ever since I had to do the pads and rotors on my Pontiac G6 way back in the day (feels weird saying that about 2017), that's been one of those subjects that I'd watch just for the hell of it (might be a weird idea of entertainment from me, but hey, got me to learn all about drum brakes even though I've never encountered those in real life).
Do you still work as a mechanic keykeeper?
Nope. Only in my free time.
Beautiful car! I’m sure it rides like a dream.
That magical moment when the night prior I was thinking what The Keykeeper drives nowadays so that I can replicate his car in BeamNG Drive, and the next day this video was uploaded. Now, time for some fun
250 thousand miles is really good i think for your 20 10 I'd say u got your money's worth out of it i meant to ask u do u still have the 94 Chevy brown truck or did it get halled off to the scrap yard
It got traded off for a newer truck. The bbpoj was beginning to have frame rot.
That's not a bad deal it's better to get rid of it before it got really bad
Looks pretty good for it's age
Wow, that's a nice car! I've always liked the looks of these, and of course the legendary reliability. I even wanted one myself, but I ended up with a little Ford Escape of the same era (2001-2012) instead. I do hope someday, if the opportunity presents itself, I can get my hands on a Panther platform in nice shape like yours. But with all the road salt around here, they are sadly getting to be a rare sight now.
Grandma Keith! I had a Crown Vic and loved it, same with my grandparents Town Car. Great platform. Happy to see another Key Keeper video! Keep it up, bro!
you should get another BBPOS
Gorgeous vehicle. Love the panther platform, although I prefer the Aero body shape much more than the Whale.
Nice! I bought a 2007 Grand Marquis Palm Beach Edition last year when I lost the Subaru to an accident. Just turned over 81k miles on it the other day!
This is more like a patrol car from Ford Crown Victoria on TV shows of COPS. Very nice sedan, and it is a really great design before when all police, sheriffs, and law enforcement use Ford Explorer and Ford Taurus today.😃
A set of cab corners would make that thing look mint.
This one is also much more nicely equipped in most regards than the Keykeeper's 2010: both front seats are power operated, it has the CD/tape combo radio with RDS (something that to my amazement the CD-only radio in the 2010 totally lacks), adjustable pedals, there's a compass and a built in garage door opener controller. It doesn't have the air ride and the cluster is very basic (maybe all the 2003s had a very basic cluster). How nice it would have been if Ford had kept the Panther cars in production, someone said "let's make an electric version of this" _and_ such actually came to market. If that had happened, you'd be looking at the *one* electric car I'd ever consider buying, because I want nothing to do with these buggy, insecure, poorly engineered "video game" cars of today. When the size of a touchscreen is a selling point in any car, there's been a serious wrong turn made somewhere. The sooner those godawful and dangerous things are gone, the better. Okay, I'm off to get my Geezertrol pills and then I'll be better.
I hear ya.. I actually put a Ford "Audiophile" radio in my 2007... had some Sony single-din I couldn't see or work by feel, so I junked it. Mine has the factory sub too.. RARE option. No air ride on mine either, as part of the Palm Beach package.. but that same package DOES add side airbags!
An excellent soapbox speech Uxwbill 👍
Years ago I purchased a CD/tape combo radio from a Panther vehicle of this era to replace a failed factory radio in my 1993 Ford Taurus, and I was amazed with the quality of it. It sounded great, and the RDS was very nice to have as well. Sadly, it seems my local radio stations have stopped broadcasting RDS data for some unfathomable reason. I have to admit the idea of an electric Panther car had not crossed my mind, but now that you mention it that may be a really cool idea. Like a super simple, ultra reliable electric car without any of the bloated software and over-the-air updates that leave your vehicle undrivable. They kind of came close with the electric F150, by making an electric car that doesn't look completely stupid, but unfortunately (AFAIK) it still has a mandatory gigantic tablet screen and buggy software. A small touchscreen with some basic navigation, radio, and Bluetooth handsfree functions is OK in my opinion, but I can't stand this gigantic tablet screen trend. Especially when all the HVAC controls are buried in touchscreen menus, I agree it's ridiculous and downright dangerous.
@@AricVogel Maybe you've already thought of this, but it might be worth checking to make sure the RDS option is still on. Ford, possibly thinking of what might happen with a station having a broken RDS signal, defaulted the option to off with this and many other radios from the same time frame. I don't know if the setting is nonvolatile, so if your radio lost backup power... I don't suppose most people even care or notice the presence of R(B)DS decoding in their radio. I've certainly noticed many stations not paying much if any attention to it. One station that I listen to fairly often wasn't broadcasting it for months. Now they are, but they are using the European (or "International") PTY settings. As further proof that I'm a hopeless display nerd of some kind, the AM/FM/CD radio has the complete set of sixteen segment characters and RDS indicators, yet the firmware doesn't enable them. It "pains" me how that display is just wasted! (At least it shows various radio operation messages.) I have seen some vehicles ordered for fleets or in lower trim levels that have only the tiniest touch screen. I've also noticed that the currently produced Ford E-series chassis cab models have a "shaft style" radio with a small color non-touch display. I'd love to see that in something else! As things are now, I think the only vehicle I could tolerate buying brand new would be the Chevrolet Express. Nothing's cheap, though, so Naughty Truck and I keep on cruising along... Along this same vein of hating on modern cars, I absolutely despise the lack of headroom in any of them. I'm 6'2" tall and more than a little bored with almost having to break my neck to get in and then to sit there with my head firmly pressed into the headliner.
I wonder how an Ecoboost powered Panther body would of done.
