Eben played wing at school and only started in the forwards final years high school. definitely in the top 3/4 locks to play for the Bokke. Eben, Victor and Bakkies. Just fkn power skill and agg

Massive respect for South Africa out of New Zealand- our long time foe! Eben Etzebeth is a true warrior whom I admire as a person and as a player. That admiration and respect is built on his do or die attitude toward his approach to the game. Their semi final against England will be an absolute ripper. Eben, is fast becoming my fave lock, to be the best he has to better Victor and other great SA and English locks I grew up in NZ but have 1000 Au dollars on the Boks to retain the Cup These players are better educated than the Brits, and Kiwis, it shows

I find it amazing that players in the modern era are so exposed to the media. They not only have to be great players but also deal with the media. Previous era players did not have to face the media as these guys do. Well done gents!

Englishman here. If SA plays like they did against Ireland then we’re going to loose and loose badly. However I’ve watched Rugby for many many years and some teams peek one or two games before the final if this is the case England May get lucky. IMO SA v NZ final.

There’ll always be the loud minority giving the impression of the majority. That’ll always be the case. But majority of us have utmost respect for other teams. Itoje doesn't hold a candle to Eben

Itoje has had a quiet tournament and a quiet couple of years in an England shirt, by no means playing badly… but doesn’t seem to be putting in the consistent MOTM performances as he used to. Playing against Etzebeth he’s going to be at his absolute best as he’s the form lock in World Rugby right now.
